Okay...now I’m angry!!
I just started binge watching this show tonight and I couldn’t stop!! Now, it’s 2:30 in the morning and I’m sad and grumpy it’s over...mostly because I just know my kids will wake my butt up early tomorrow. But let’s be honest, it was worth it for my crazy Mrs. Maisel!!
I came because Gilmore Girls is right up there with my favorite shows of all time. I love Gilmore Girls for the wittiness, pop references, and girl power and Mrs. Maisel definitely delivered in many of the same ways. The characters are well-developed and sympathetic—I even felt for her “evil” husband. The only criticisms I had were that it bugged me that as a mom, she basically never took care of her own children, but I get that the show wasn’t really about that at all.
I highly recommend this series. Hilarious and charming. I can’t wait for more episodes! Just watch it!
Then, once you’re done with that, find Bunheads (same writers) and watch that. Then, come see me and we’ll bitch about how that show deserved more episodes, too!!

Oh my goddess I loved everything about this book!!!!!!!!!!!! I won this in a goodreads giveaway and I am so happy - I saw the title and immediately knew that I needed to read this book and odds are that I would love it.

It was very character based though I wish it was more alternating POV between the 4 instead of just MJ driven though in the end it makes sense as to why that was the case so no points off for that aspect but I wish I could have got into the other characters heads too not just one.

Being a 32 year old recently married individual - this book was quite entertaining and wowza .. an eye opener for those married a long time/having issues - I just literally reading this book and just squealing out loud or going oh my god!!!! my husband sitting next to me looking at me like I'm crazy, yes, yes I am. I really wish it didn't end and this is a definite re-read for me. I'll be recommending it for everyone - I'm going to lend it to my mom too because, well, I just think she'll like it ha!

I read this book last, of the three unicorn books this one (for me) was the hardest to find. I actually started with the second book purchased at a school's book fair at about age 12 and found the third book somewhere in high school then after a decade found this one in a used books store. My first thought was this is a children’s book? This chaotic crazy story, that called the main character a slut when something goes bad that is put in situations that could go extremely wrong. An anger that has occasionally levity of the peeve (one of the best characters ever). This is a book for preteens? But it just shows that with age perspective changes. Because rereading it the story changed.
Tanith Lee is a great story teller and the ending of the book it worth the trouble of the beginning. How Tanaquil grows and how less self centered and selfish she becomes is subtle. I don’t know if I would recommend reading the second unicorn book first or this one. Either way, it is a journey of discovery.

One of the things I love about horror is the potential for wildly imaginative happenings. Like fantasy, some crazy things can take place–only with horror, it’s more attuned to the things we fear. In Mark Matthews Body of Christ, we see the fantastic in strange, everyday behaviors.

Body of Christ tells the story of two children simultaneously, one a young boy whose mother is abusive and father kills himself, the other a girl whose mother has died and her father neglects her. Both children are peculiar in their own ways, and it is deliciously disturbing. Despite how messed up the story is, I can’t help but feel a bit of pity for the children and that’s a good thing, considering they’re the herald of bad things to come.

The story is quick-paced, with no time wasted. Considering my short attention span, this is a plus. Boredom often leads to me not finishing a story. Overall, I really enjoyed reading this work. I feel that the plot was unique and I love the way Matthews describes his horrific things.

I received a free copy of this book. This is my unbiased opinion.

286. You Were Never Really Here. One intense movie! Intense soundtrack, intense action, intense subject matter. We meet a guy named Joe, sure he looks homeless, but in reality he's a war veteran that lives with his aging mother. The audience gets just a few glimpses of Joe's background and they aren't pretty. Now he's dedicated his life to rescuing missing and exploited children, and more importantly for those that hire him, he punishes those responsible, very brutally, weapon of choice: ball-peen hammer. And the one case the film focuses on, turns out to be very sinister indeed. Joaquin Phoenix is intense as Joe, a man unafraid of violence, but extremely tormented by his past. Definitely worth a watch. (Side note: If you watch it, towards the beginning of the movie Joe exits his house, you can hear in the background a small dog barking like crazy. Joe pauses for a moment, twitches just a bit, camera cuts to his mom watching him out the front window, you hear the dog bark one final time, yelps as in pain and goes silent... Do you think Joe killed the doggy???) Filmbufftim on FB

Time: 30-45 minutes

Players: Can play up to 8? Anything that plays up to 8 is a plus for me. We have different player amounts for our group all the time and sometimes you need a bigger game.
Time: Not only is it a larger group game, but it plays fast. Turns are so quick you guys. Read a single card and follow the text. It's that fast.
Simple Rules: Literally your turn is either draw 2 cards or draw 1 card and play 1 card. Then follow the text on the played card and keep up with ongoing effects. Example. The yay card says you can't be neighed(stopped from playing a card). Super simple to keep up with.
Artwork: The game is made by TeeTurtle. Shout out to them for the artwork in the game. It's all cutesy unicorns and such. If you don't know. TeeTurtle makes shirts and such. They have a cool and hip style which makes this a fun and great game to look at. Each card is unique.

Good, if a little drawn out
I recall watching a documentary on DuPont and Parkersberg a while back, but was really interested to see the dramatised version of how this all came about.

Overall this is a rather haunting and tense film, with a great score and performances especially from Mark Ruffalo. It has such a dark appearance and overtone, and this works really well. It all feels rather ominous. The story itself is hugely interesting, although I think there are parts in this that are way too drawn out. Virtually all of the family related scenes were entirely unnecessary and made the film a lot longer than it needed to be. They could have cut all of these out and it would've had no impact on the main story. Because of this lengthy run time, the film only just held my attention and purely because the story itself is fascinating. I mean how a company gets away with doing something like this is absolutely crazy.

However if they'd have cut a good half an hour out of this, I probably would've rated it a bit higher.

In this fast passed action comedy, Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell are a young couple who live in the small town of Milton. Charlie Bronson (Dax Shepard) has a sordid past that prevents him from leaving the small town that he and his girlfriend live in. Charlie’s past includes a bank robber without a name (Bradley Cooper) and he is out to seek revenge against Charlie for testifying against him in an older bank robbery case.

After Annie gets a promotion outside of Milton in L.A., the couple end up heading on a road trip as Charley is determined to get her to her new job on time. Little does she know the road trip to her future may be the end of her relationship, a crazy adventure or a new beginning.

This movie is nothing short of hilarious. In my opinion Tom Arnold who plays Charlie’s protection makes this entire movie worth watching and that is saying something.

While I was not a fan of the cinematography used in this film , the humor makes up for it for sure. This film should not be missed especially if you like really fast cars.

I had no idea what to expect when I started to read Angel Catbird. Before running across this graphic novel, I wasn't aware that Margaret Atwood had written a graphic novel. (I just ran across another one that I'll also have to check out.) Of course, I am familiar with Margaret Atwood's novels being about various, interesting things. A source of vivid imagination. So when I read Angel Catbird, I wasn't surprised by the imagination. However, it's also definitely not her best work by a long shot. Angel Catbird is full, and I mean, **FULL** of cat puns. Some were okay, some were too much, and some were downright terrible. There were also cat facts added at the bottom of some pages, in reference to actions that had taken place on that page. I think those were unnecessary. It was silly, but also violent in some parts. Overall, the story was okay. It passes. It does the job. This is exactly what you'd expect to read if a crazy cat lady decided to try her hand at writing an action-type graphic novel. Not terrible, but not phenomenal. Get ready for some cat puns.
