I didn't know anything about this series before I borrowed the first book from the library. I thought it was probably going to be pretty juvenile, and that I'd return it right away. However, I'm pleasantly surprised. While it is about children, the book is rated for older teens. It's funny, innocent, and cute, and then it quickly starts going in different directions that make it a bit dark, frustrating, a little creepy. The only real negative opinion that I have about it is that it seems to have a bit of a repetitive nature towards this volume's end. I'm looking forward to moving onto book two, though!

It's a brilliant collection of three games looking forward to infinite after I finish the first two games

Beautiful horror
Annahilation is absolutely gorgeous to look at, even in the creepy moments it's really pretty.

There is a shimmer and they send people in but they don't come out. A group of armed female soldiers head in to find out what's going on and what they find is our planet but completely changed. The shimmer is spreading but how do they stop it and how do they know they are not just crazy.

The plot isn't as well written as it could have been but the visuals make up for it making it a fun watch.

Crazy nonsense fun
Annoyingly, we weren't sure about this film, so we watched the trailer. That trailer pretty much gives away all of the wonderful twists of this crazy, multi-faceted film.
A young couple pull one last robbery (when has that ever gone wrong?!) and quickly run out of petrol on the run. They find themselves breaking into the worst possible house, owned by a creepy couple who return shortly after.
The over-the-top acting is totally appropriate (luckily for Jeffrey Donovan) and serves to make this a great, not-too-violent or gory film.
Well worth a watch, but avoid the trailer!

Always remember to pack a Virgin and a Rosary.

Awful things happen against beautiful backdrops and this is no different.
I really like Emory, the horror film buff. He has a close, cheeky relationship with his twin sister, but for all the cheek he'd do anything for her. I enjoyed watching his character develop, his confidence grow and slowly realise how others see him.
The relationship/dynamics between Emory and Conner are interesting.....friends/holiday neighbours.....Emory's secret crush...

This isn't for the faint-hearted, there is blood and danger and it's put me off abandoned buildings again! It's creepy and has a darkness throughout, I love it.
