I really didn't know what to expect from this one but everyone I know all agreed it was good and while a fairytale retelling it was still unique enough that it felt like it's own story. and I have to agree 100%. The characters were all great but my favorite by far was Lira the main character.
The plot was fun and the writing was great I honestly did not want to put this down, my favorite thing by far was there was no instalove and each character grew but still stayed on the darker side.

Better than the film
I really hate how difficult I find it to separate a book and the film adaptation. Whilst I didn't love the Birdbox film, i thought it was alright, however reading this book has really made me reconsider.
The book and film plots are similar, but the book seems a lot darker and creepier. The character of Malorie is different, nicer even but I dont think she is very well developed in this. This was a good book and an interesting take on the end of the world scenario, I just wish I'd read this before watching the film.

Wonderful Insight
I was a bit curious about this book as i have watched the series Narcos on Netflix which has been created from this book. The book is much darker and contains a lot of information about Pablo Escobar that was lacking in the series. This shows his childhood and how he grew to become one of the most notorious Drug lords in the world. If you like your biographical stories then this won't let you down. A fantastic read even for those who have not seen the series.

LOVE this series
I have watched 7 episodes of the 10 episodes series.
I feel this series is beautifully written. It makes you want to delete all your social media accounts lol. I feel Penn Badgley is really good for the role as it reminds me of Dan Humphreys in Gossip Girl but a lot darker. It makes you feel what you really do on social media and make you evaluate what you do and make yourself safe.
I will be watching more of this series.

Watched on netflix it's good movie not what was I expecting a version of America if u have powers u are treated badly so some have to turn to crime to get bye plus u got Stephen amell from arrow basically playing a darker version big what he would be playing on arrow plus u got his cousin playing the good guy and the movie is about him trying to provide for his sick mother and trying to stay out of trouble. Overall not a bad movie Definitely one I would watch again

Barry Newman (204 KP) rated Lethal Weapon (1987) in Movies

Yes it's showing it's age but this is still up there with Die Hard as one of the best action movies of the 80's. The original is the best in the series, darker and more violent than the (weaker but still fun) more comedic sequels. The plot is actually a little on the thin side with a fairly forgettable bad guy but what makes the film is of course Gibson & Glover as Riggs & Murtagh one of the greatest big screen duos. The banter ,warmth and respect between the two characters is tremendously entertaining and you just can't help but root for them.
