"This is about what a music student who really wants to be great has to sacrifice to pursue greatness. It reminded me a little of my own experience at university, and how there’s such a difference between studying music, which is quite sterile, and then actually going out and doing it. You have to unlearn everything and just try to be honest, using your instrument to speak in a way that people can understand. Andrew’s (Miles Teller) relationship with his music teacher in the film is very extreme, but I had music teachers at school who I felt really passionate about and who I wanted to get better for, so they would believe in me."

"I am 77 years old and feeling better than ever. This book has proved to me that longevity has everything to do with one’s state of mind. I just make sure to release all my anger and resentment whenever it hits me, and take a walk. I also dance in my mind to keep myself in good health. Smile in the mirror. Do that every morning and you’ll start to see a big difference in your life. The best advice is to do three things a day to make somebody happy. Do that for three months, and your life will be totally changed. These 77 years are just a prelude to my life!"

I was under the impression Grey would be all three Fifty Shades kind of thrown into one book, only in Christian's point of view. That misconception was my own fault. I was still disappointed, though. I felt bored reading most of it, especially because it felt like there wasn't much difference between reading it and reading Fifty Shades again. There weren't many scenes without Anastasia, so it was almost as if everything was just flipped, instead of feeling like I was experiencing it for the first time. Also, it was nowhere near as "down and dirty" as other readers made it out to be - at least, not in my opinion. Overall, I wasn't too happy with Grey.

When Nathalie is interviewed about how being adopted effected her life, although initially she denies that it made any difference to her, she suddenly discovers a need to find her birth parents, and insists that her brother David (also adopted) do the same. This takes them down a road that neither of them were ever prepared to travel, and yet, are both, inexplicably drawn towards.

With "Brother and Sister" Joanna Trollope gives us a parallel study in human nature, but she does so with such simple artistry that you'll find yourself compelled to read this straight through.
