Page turner
It was kind of a quick read, the story was very easy to understand and the craziness of it all made it easy to keep reading and not save for later. It's also another dystopian novel that really gets you thinking.

Horrible.

Never read this. It's so sad, dark, and depressing. What a horrible ending. If you want to know about cults, go watch the Kool-Aid Cult documentary - This book is just a knock-off of that. It's labelled as "dystopian" but it's definitely not, it's just freaky.

Nuanced performance from a normally criminally underused Clive Owen.
A provocative view of earths dystopian near future as a virus causes infertility and mankind is doomed to die a prolonged death.
Great visuals and stand out performances from Owen and Moore with a great Cameo from Michael Caine, a must watch.

Disturbingly relevant even to contemporary events
Philip Roth's vivid dystopian novel depicts America under a fascist government through the eyes of a 9-year-old boy in the peak of World War One. It's dark and compelling, showing how creeping discrimination can ultimately make way for potential genocide. Absolutely grim yet gripping.

Shocking, terrifying look at state sponsored slavery of women in the future
Having read this at a girl's school, The Handmaid's Tale is a truly frightening dystopian novel highlighting the state's control over women's bodies. The most worrying aspect of the novel is that parts of it rings true around the world today.

Classic, amazing, dystopian future story. This book still has a major impact on the world today. It gives you so much to think about. Think. Appreciate that you are allowed to think. I would have rated it higher, but I didn't like the ending. Those who have read it will know why.

This was the perfect mix of genres. The dystopian world that Burke creates was fantastic in a steampunk way. The fact that the characters are pirates adds yet another element. Both main characters, Rose and Miranda, are complex and the romantic tension between them is another element to this already complex plot.

"As for dystopian, I’m not putting this on the list because we live in a time when those wielding power say things like, “Truth isn’t truth.” (Fun fact: it is!) I’m adding it because, when I was too young to grasp its cautionary aspects, this book showed me what a novel could do."
