A film ahead of it's time.
An incredibly fun film, only improved by the the very special effects of Ray Harryhausen.
The first thing that must be mentioned with the first of the Sinbad trilogy, is Ray Harryhausen's special effects. While his work can't be compared in realism to that of the digital age, but the sheer skill and effort put into the creatures are incredible, and create something that no digital method can approach in charm.
The story, loosely based on one of the 7 voyages of Sinbad from the Arabian Nights, is great fun, and makes for compelling viewing. The acting from the main cast is excellent, if a little cheesy in places, but sadly this is detracted from by some of the questionable acting from smaller cast members and extras, but with these films, it is expected, and in its own way adds to the enjoyment.
Finally, something that couldn't really be helped in that era, but the casting of white people as famous Muslim characters. Obviously being the 1950s things were quite different in terms of inclusion, but they still made a film to be proud of :)

Great cast (2 more)
Big budget feel
Very funny
Brilliant Action/Comedy
A favourite of mine starring an impressive cast. This is a big budget Action, comedy that feels like 2 films in one. It has some great big budget scenes, effects and stunts without taking its self seriously. Almost a tongue in cheek Bond role for Arnie. This has something for everyone.

The effects look terrible (2 more)
The whole film feels very low budget
Terrible plot
Blast this into space!
What a disappointment! I loved the original and the fact this had a lot of the original cast gave me high hopes. It's a mess though and looks cheap and trashy like a syfy channel film. Missed opportunity!

Good Sfx
A decent Sci-fi thriller
An ok film overall with a strong cast and good special effects. I wouldn't say the creature design was great, maybe they thought it would be more plausible? The big problem is it has been done better before many times. It's quite a predictable film but it's well made.

Well acted (2 more)
Good script
Impressive set design
Kill One, Save A Thousand
A well acted, well written war movie. Murphy and Dornan are great as the two lead spies and production level is high. The sets and the use of practical effects make for exciting battle scenes that break up the tension and dread that is present throughout the film.

The only good one in the series
A good film well done on a big budget. A teen romance film with a Vampire twist. It didn't have as much action as I was expecting but the special effects are pretty good. It has some good scenes underling what a Vampire can do. Unfortunately the rest of the films weren't as good.

Fantastic fight choreography (3 more)
Doesn't take itself too seriously
Good pacing
Clever dialogue
Fantastic spy romp
Just watched this because the trailers for Kingsman 2 look amazing. If the sequel is anything like this one, it'll be a blast. The fight choreography and special effects were fantastic, the characters were fun, it had great action and fights without being too gory. Great movie.

One of Danny Boyle's Best
Danny Boyle is one of those directors that can rarely do wrong, and he really excels here with this beautiful sci-fi. It's well acted and has a fantastic cast, the effects are brilliant and it's a really interesting plot. The soundtrack by John Murphy is probably one of my all time favourite soundtracks, so haunting and memorable.
