**BOOK SYNOPSIS**
Every year, all across the planet, people simply vanish, completely disappear and are never seen again. Some areas of the world are well known for this phenomenon. Infinity's Gateway opens with a very famous incident that took place just after the end of World War II with the United States Navy. The story then jumps to the present day with an unexplainable event that occurs off the coast of Florida, an event that cannot be ignored by the military.

The Navy ship Eclipse and its crew are sent to investigate, but after several days come up empty. Two days before returning to port, the event reoccurs, and the Eclipse is caught up in something it cannot escape. The Eclipse and its crew suddenly find themselves completely isolated, all communication lost, surrounded by a terribly hostile environment where each day is a struggle to survive. Infinity's Gateway is an intense, action packed story of survival, self-reliance, and discovery.

So a father leaves his kids-with a woman he's planning to marry- for a few days in a remote cabin. Just when his kids need him most(because their mother killed herself in the beginning) and goes off to work(at Christmas time). Somehow, he has ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA idea just how mentally damaged/unstable she is. This movie eas a slow, tedious, mind-numbing burn that just fizzles out in the end(horrible ending). The acting was decent and the cinematography was too. It had creep factor, I'll give it that, but the story was just... sad. These kids go through hell through pretty much the entire film because of this psychotic ex-cultist and it ends up being their last days. You genuinely feel bad for them, but overall this was just a weird movie strangely pieced together that built up to....nothing. Her craziness wins out. NOT worth a watch.

DNF at 43% after 10 days of reading.

This was a little too much sci-fi for me.

I read books for the romance and after 164 (43%) pages, apart from Elder liking Amy and getting jealous over his friend's interaction with her, there wasn't any. It was mainly about the ship and its running and how Amy was different to everyone else looks-wise and how Eldest didn't like her.

I think if the plot had played out a little quicker I may have continued to the end but with how it was plodding along, I got bored and couldn't find the enthusiasm to continue with it anymore.

"They're definitely a new gothic group. Sonically though it reminds of the early-90s, almost a soundtrack for the X-Files, the way the synthesisers sound, but all around the record it's very dark and spooky. There are very few records these days that have a gimmick but it's not completely hokey, it's almost believable when you're watching the theatrics that go along with it. So it's spooky, and makes the hairs on my arms stand on end, but the songs are pretty great, I love how dynamic she can be with her voice. Some of my favourite parts are when the vocal is pitched down, so it doesn't sound human, that's way interesting to me, you don't hear that too often, especially with a female vocal."

Season 1 Review
This show, I think I binge watched in only a matter of days. It is quite different from the book if you have read that first, but regardless, it is a fantastic show. It is very much a psychological thriller in that you won't really have that, "OH!" Moment until around the last episode, in which you will be so disappointed that it is over and want there to be more. There may be a few moments of confusion, but push through as it really does all make so much sense in the end. Overall, a very well directed, produced, and cast show that you are guarenteed to love!
