love love LOVED this one!

I was gifted my copy of this book, direct from the author, that I write a review was my choice.

This is Ms Pauls second step into the Krinar world and I loved it!

Liv wants to make sure her brothers survive, makes a deal with Zavir to ensure they will not be harmed when he smashes the resistance ring they are part of. But little Liv makes Zavir want to keep her, and the only way to do that, is to betray her trust.

OoOOOEEEEE!!! I loved these two!!

Powerful, instant attraction. Powerful hatred of the other. enemies to lovers. Betrayal from some many around them. So much right up my street, I read the whole book in one sitting, and did not move til I finished!

It's sexy, it's dark, it's full of hope, and despair, the whole bloody gamut of human, and indeed, Krinar emotions all wrapped up in some 200 pages that is just bloody brilliant!!

Because it's a world written by different authors, you don't need to read them all in any order of order, I don't think. But what I'm left with now, is the overwhelming NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED for every single book in this world, and there are a fair few!!

I loved this book, did I say that yet??

YA Sci-Fi with dog-fighting spaceships!!

A young girl, Spensa (call sign: Spin), wants to escape her life and follow in her father’s footsteps into the Defiance Defense Force. Except her father died in terrible circumstances - he was killed by his own people in a battle against their enemies, the Krell. He has been labelled a coward, the stigma of which has stuck with the whole family. Spensa doesn’t believe it, and wants to restore his reputation. Those in charge of admission to the flight school believe she carries the same ‘defect’ as her father, and set out to make it extremely difficult for her to attend. She isn’t allowed to stay at the school to sleep or eat, and so she finds a cave nearby, where she sleeps, eats and discovers an old spaceship. She goes about repairing the ship, and finds that it has an AI called M-Bot. Something which those on Detritus have no access to.
The beginning of the book was a bit ‘teenage-angsty’, but it did develop into a really good book, with dog fights galore (think Top Gun with space ships!). And M-Bot really made it for me. After THAT ending, I’m definitely looking forward to the next book!

I used to be Everly Marrs, then D, W, J, K, and T kidnapped me to force my father’s hand. As hard as I tried not to lose myself to their games, I couldn’t have imagined how much worse things could get.

Six months trapped in hell. Six months forgetting who I used to be. Six months just trying to survive.

I got out—eventually—and there they were, all five of them. One moment I was in hell, and then suddenly, I returned to purgatory. They keep telling me what will happen to those who took what belonged to them. They keep telling me what will be done to their enemies.

I’m not sure I can believe them. I’m not sure a word they say is true.

The Letters, they’re still at war, and I’m still in the middle of it. I was an ant, and everyone around me stomped on me.

But, I used to be Everly Marrs, and— dammit— I will be again.

So things just got a little darker for Evelyn. There were some points I just wanted to slap her but I think her first kill kinda did that for her! I'm glad she did what she did at the end too I think some of the men are get a bit to emotional. I do love Rebecca and her writing style.
