Initiation ( The Warriors book 1)
By Rebecca Royce
Keep your friends close...and your enemies closer.
Rachel Clancy has had to learn the hard way that you can't always trust who you know.
Born with a specific set of genes that lets her fight monsters, Rachel has trained her entire life to kill vampires and werewolves. Unprepared for the level of deception and betrayal she faces as she journeys Upwards to battle her enemies, it's not long before Rachel finds herself on a quest that will alter the lives of everyone she knows.
Including Rachel's...
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would! I found it a bit rushed in places but overall a really good concept! YA are hot and miss lately but I do like Rebecca Royces writing style! This is just another good book from her!

This is the first book by this author that I've read. This is a second chance love story with the added enemies to friends story. The prologue just sucks you into the story from the start. This book has amazing characters which are really well written. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future.

The story is very compelling (1 more)
The setting is unique
Perfection
Within the first two hours, I was hooked. The game has Assassin's Creed gameplay, but managed to make it feel way more fluid. The enemies are varied and interesting to fight.
The game could definitely use heavier RPG elements, but what already exists is compelling.
You will not find more entertainment for anywhere close to this game's price.

Post Apocalypse without zombies and gangs
Where do I start on this game?
When I first saw it was announced, I was hyped. Then my hype died upon seeing gameplay and as time went by. I eventually decided I was going to take a risk and play it upon release. The next 3 days I was nowhere to be found as I put 50 hours into the game. Its so easy to fall in love with the characters and become invested in the story while still getting happily lost in the vast open world of post-apocalyptic Utah.
Even when you finish the main game, there are very likely plenty of side missions (many of which are unique in their own right) to complete. I first discovered an enemy AFTER I'd beaten the main game and had to figure out which method of attack would be best to tackle the beast. There is so much variety in your attacks from tying enemies down and running at them with your spear to tearblasting their armor off and hitting some carefully placed precision arrows. My favorite takedown is shooting the blaze canisters on enemies' bodies with fire arrows and watching as they detonate with a big kaboom.
I had to really think about what would keep this game from being a 10/10 and I realized that there are some enemies that just got on the nerves. Oftentimes Glinthawks would never come near the group and would constantly be moving, shooting ice at you. I had to learn through a mission a good way into the game that Glinthawks are susceptible to fire which will knock them down pretty quickly for some spear attacks. Also, the wonderful Ashley Burch's voice would often sound much differently than it would if they went by the mouth movements that Aloy made.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2084 KP) rated The Warlord of Mars (Barsoom, #3) in Books

When John Carter follows his mortal enemies Thurid and Matai Shang, he learns of a plan to free his beloved wife, Dejah Thoris, from her prison six months early. But his race to beat them to the rescue turns in to a race across Mars. Will John Carter ever defeat his enemies and be reunited with his wife?
Even written 100 years ago, this feels like a modern action movie with a science fiction setting. You’ve got a character overcoming overwhelming odds with a bit of ease and characters that are just developed enough to make us care. And just like an action film, it’s plenty of fun if you approach it with the right attitude. I certainly enjoyed finding out what happened next to these characters despite the flaws I mentioned.

This is the first book by this author that I've read. This is an enemies to lovers story. This book is full of lots of steam and drama. The fake fiance story line was quite entertaining in parts. I enjoyed the characters, the confident women mixed with the bad boy. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future.

Mar 9, 2018
When Gus is knocked into a 24 hour coma, he awakes to find Shawn has a new friend. Tara insists she is Shawn's psychic slave. Could she be behind the things happening to Shawn's enemies? I loved this tie in novel. I laughed hard and the plot kept me guessing until the end.

PyroTheDragon (6 KP) rated the Xbox One version of Mass Effect: Andromeda in Video Games

Call for a ehhhh time.
It's huge. So many world's so many stories to follow. I feel like that takes away from the game itself. I couldn't finish it, the game ended up feeling like a chore. I did however get into the coop online multiplayer, until the same four maps and three enemies got old. Worth a play, huge fans of the series will.more than likely have a good time playing it.
