Better than the last!
I wasn't expecting too much from this movie but it really delivered way more!! It was exciting, tense, funny and sweet. It wasn't what I was expecting but I really enjoyed it. This adaptation is WAY better than the Jack Black one, it's just so much better! And I was very happy with the way things turned out. I was also glad and surprised that they didn't include a romance plot for the film, which I personally found relieving. I would have liked to know more about what Kong and his enemies are, seeing as the man who might have known couldn't explain after a while. There wasn't much explanation in regards to them, which would have been nice. But still, it's a good, easy to watch film. It's definitely worth a watch! Plus, who doesn't love Samuel L. Told from opposing POV this book is long. The world building requires the length. You learn about a new world with Affinities and slave trading. Princess Ana and Con-man Ramson have to race against the empire and themselves to save everyone.

I enjoyed this book but I didn't love it. The plot was fantastic but it was so long. It took me a few days to finish which is weird because normally when I start a great book I rush through it. The slow burn was there and the characters had growth. But it's book 1 in the series and we all know what that means.

The Affinities were something that really got me into the book. I wish they had more of a presence. Otherwise I have all good things for this book. It was great and interesting the slow burn enemies to lovers is a favorite trope of mine.

The follow-up to the first Dwarves book sees the dwarves again join forces with the humans and now join forces with their age old enemies the elves to battle against a new source of evil.
There is a lot packed into this book with a number of stand-offs against the evil thirdling dwarves, the evil elves and an invading force from the Outer Lands.
For me at times it felt like the story was being made up on the spot with the overarching plot changing a number of times to suit the author's mood. At one point the feared enemy in the West was just a hoax by the thirdlings then it was real etc etc. There were still some good action scenes but these were in the minority here as so much of the book was taken up with politics and intrigue.
Something of a comedown from the first in the series.

This is the best book I've read all year! It completely kept my attention the whole time i was reading it. I was very disappointed when it ended and I found out I had to wait months for the sequel to come out. It'll definitely be well worth the wait though.
Nova Artino/Mclain aka Nightmare/Insomnia was a very likeable character. I loved her. She's definitely not one of the bad guys even though she was raised by "villians" and went undercover as a Renagade.
I really liked Adrian as well. He was also very likeable. Many of the main supporting characters were likable, I just wished we could have learned more about them and seen them more.
Overall, I greatly enjoyed this book. I cannot wait until Arch Enemies will be released so I can see where it takes Nova and Adrian and their gang.
