"This novella is wildly imaginative and has one of the best premises I have ever encountered. The Queen of England comes across a bookmobile while walking her corgis on the Palace grounds. She feels compelled to borrow a book and the ensuing infatuation with reading changes her life and the lives of everyone around her. A brilliant, and thankfully prolific, writer."

"I spend quite a bit of time in England and I've gor quite a few English mates so passed me on to Loyle Carner. I just love it. The last verse really caught me-it sounds very deep and sad and beautiful, all at the same time. He's got an amazing voice and it's an awesome combination with Jorja Smith."

"Gary Oldman must rank as one of or—in my opinion—the most talented actor of his generation. Here, as per normal, he is intoxicating, as Sid Vicious, the “bass player” for the Sex Pistols. England in the ’80s. Drugs. Music. Fashion and baked beans. What’s not to love? Blink and you will miss Shane MacGowan from the Pogues, and Courtney Love."

"There are Beatles songs I hate - 'Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da' - but so what? England is where my brain was. I was always too chicken to move here: why would I want to be in competition with all these guys. It was always exciting to see what the Beatles would do next. The good stuff just can't be topped."

Patrick Gale's newest novel is the lovingly told story of Harry Cane, a man whose sexuality causes him to leave his comfortable life and family in Edwardian England, to a new future in the wilds of Saskatchewan, Canada. Find out why I gave it five out of five stars here. https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2016/02/16/tell-me-who-you-love/
