Reminiscent of Grimm Fairytales

Favourite book read in 2018 (so far!)

The first thing I have to say about this book is wow. I went into it not knowing what to expect but was completely blown away by the storyline of Vasya as she navigates becoming a young woman who is powerful, in a time when women were not; whilst using old school magic to try to help her people.
The Russian folklore gives this book a modern fairytale feel, however the darkness echoes that of the original Grimm Fairytales.
Altogether, this is a very well written epic, not to be missed, and that I very much enjoyed.

Another hit MI film

I really enjoyed the last MI film Rogue Nation and thought that was a very high standard to beat. I would say this is nearly as good almost level with that film. It is a long film but the huge action scenes, chases, stunts and fights make the film fly by. The car and bike chases in Paris are epic! Good to see it follow on from the last film. There are only a couple of minor issues with predictable plot elements. Otherwise this is a fantastic action film, a true blockbuster.

Few seasons wasn't up to what I expected. (0 more)

Been a fan from season one right up to current season 14. I've always loved keeping up with this epic TV programme I've even converted a few friends to give this a watch. In my opinion the real storyline and that really started from season 6 and as the seasons went on I was more and more hooked. Love all the cast and seeing how they've grown and can even appreciate jensens musical ability too. I generally can't think of anything else to say about this other than amazing and lives up to expectation and more.

Goliath brought an epic conclusion to the Leviathan Trilogy. I read through this book quicker than the others (and that is saying a lot). As the crew of the Leviathan continue their mission, the action and adventure increases! Tensions rise as secrets long kept come into the light. Alek wants to do the right thing, but is his judgement clouded? If you are looking for something new to read, this trilogy is where it is at! Watching Alek and Deryn learn, grow and mature along this journey was a delight. This is a great story and one that I look forward to revisiting in the future.

This sprawling and big budget retelling of Arthur and the search for the holy grail is the best there is, from its multi big name English stars of the time to those that were upcoming and serves to be the version all others will struggle to reach and the best interpretation to date in my opinion
Nicol Williamson as Merlin is both amazing and mesmerising and his delivery is very unique and adds further dimension to the character.
A lavishly designed epic of a movie that still stand s tall today, it may be a little long for some, however it's a classic that deserves to be seen!
