Again, we have more essays which are not very enjoyable.

There wasn't anything in particular I found interesting in these essays. They all spoke of similar things to what Darwin talks about, but is less coherent as they go along.

A book of why I write by people who write
A book of short essays from poets writing about the art of poetry. Look out for Kathleen Jamie's essay on truth, very insightful. Some of the book was like a massive tongue twister whilst others where thought provoking. Worth a read if you want an insiders view.

"A seminal book of essays. A meditation on the mythologies of the West and on America itself. Trenchant, prescient, timeless"

"The second piece in this heartfelt and raw book of essays is titled “Not Just for Grandmas.” Okun means it facetiously, but the title really hit home for me. Knitting wasn’t something the cool kids were doing in high-school. Knitting was an activity reserved for Grandmothers and the like, but suddenly here was a book of essays that spoke to the anxiety prone — myself included — looking to exert a little control over the crazy world around us."

I am not a fan of reading essays. Though they give interesting views, they are not entertaining in the slightest. I was more intrigued by the last essay out of all of them which is called "The Subjection of Women." It seems as if he is a feminist of the Victorian era, which is very cool to be able to see. He has a lot of good ideas in there that are still very relevant today. Out of all of these essays, I would recommend this one out of all of them.

The one thing I didn't like about any of these essays is that they are all very repetitive. They seem to say the same thing over and over again which gets very boring, very quickly.

Rather disappointing collection of essays, especially after all the buzz I'd heard about this book. She had me laughing at a few places, but most of the stories felt either flat or forced.

"This one is a memoir consisting of essays. Very real, dark at times, but the wit and candor snagged me from the start. Laugh-out-loud funny but also very realistic and honest."

"As written to his son, Coates’s poignant and gripping essays that tackle race in America. The book has been a great resource when having the difficult and necessary conversations about race with teens and adults."
