I only watched the first couple episodes, quite disappointed.I was hoping it would be like the old tv show which was magical and funny. This has more of an evil feel and too serious. No humor and was disappointed that Salem the cat didn't talk.

"It is the most enchanting book. And it’s such a brilliant idea: children born at the same hour who metaphorically encompass all the good and evil attributes of a new society. Rushdie writes with a true patriotism—a love for his country that’s not blind."

"The reality TV–esque approach of this movie is so prescient. In recent times we have seen so many people use the media to glorify violence and murder. This movie feels like black comedy, but really it’s a deep commentary about the sensationalism of evil."

"Birth defects, ancient Chinese terra cotta figures, the history of clouds, burning questions about suffering, numbers, evil, and time — this strange gem of a book has it all. Each category of thought is a portal, and its structure is a thing of unfolding beauty."
