The kiss of a princess can be a powerful tool against the forces of evil. A magic that I have never read about is weaved into this book and I could not be more impressed.
Think romance of enemies to lovers but more subtle than that. A princess who will do anything to win and a prince who doesn't want her help. Together they will argue their way to victory. You will laugh, roll your eyes, and ultimately fall for these two unlikely allies.

Discussed the very important finale of Star Versus the Forces of Evil this morning. I did not see that one coming. I spoiled GOT for myself as I am four seasons and 5 books behind. So...I keep saying the conclusion doesn’t matter, it’s the incredibly rich storytelling that makes the series so impressive. And realistically the victor would likely get usurped anyhow. But what do I know? I liked the end of the Sopranos too. Starting to suspect there is something wrong with me, lol.

I'm re-reading this series, as since my husband's death I find comfort in the literature I read as a teen or a young adult. And what I'm finding now, nearly thirty years later, is the same kind of anti-racism text as is found in Real Life Politics today. One of the Free Bards (Kestrel) is talking about Humans Only signs and varying things being declared as evil...

and I'm thinking... didn't I just hear this story on NPR?

This one is on Netflix. Pretty cool sci-fi flick. The acting was decent enough. Benton Thwaites is Latin protagonists(new to me) and Lawrence Fishburne was the antagonist. Nothing in this movie is too graphic for kids, either, but it might be a confusing story for them. Not a good vs evil type story. It unfolds a bit slowly but has some cool twists and turns. Cinematography was good. I definitely recommend it to sci-fi fans. Worth a watch!
