Audiobook version
This was my second attempt at this book. The first time, I tried to read it and gave up. Several years later, I found it on my library's audiobook app. I glad that I tried it: it really made me laugh, and I give all the credit for that to the excellent narrator, Ron McLarty. It's a very strange story, after all, there are a great deal of drugs involved - and you can tell! I have to admit, it doesn't make me want to visit Las Vegas anytime soon! I'm not so sure that this was the desired outcome....

Paddington 2 (2017)
2017 | Animation, Comedy, Family
I haven't seen the first Paddington film so was worried if I'd miss the intricacies of the plot or character development. But like with other superhero origin films, I think that film's purpose was to set up the sequels.
The film has an excellent cast and a strong storyline to make the most of them.
My one main gripe would be that there is a well-known English actor playing a Scottish character (Julie Walters) and yet two well-known Scottish actors playing English characters (Peter Capaldi and Tom Conti) which just struck me as odd but I'm not going all SNP about it.

[D.R. Martin] does an excellent job continuing the adventures of young boy photographer, Johnny Graphic and his friends. I [Johnny Graphic and the Attack of the Zombies] Johnny, Mel, Nina, and Dame Honoria continue the battle against Percy. This time Percy has created an army of zombies.

The classic style of the writing reminds me of Hardy Boys or Nancy Drew mysteries. It is a great throw back with a modern twist. I really enjoyed the style and the characters. The new characters that [Martin] added fit very well into the plot and enhanced the story line. I really recommend this book and feel it would be great in a classroom.

This is out and out a love story. The fact that it is two girls just adds another dimension. Cece is the 'out' lesbian. Holland is the girl everyone wants to be, ecept she is pretending. When she stops pretending to herself she begins to realize how very hard being yourself and love can be.I thought this book was good. As a teacher I think Julie Ann Peters does an excellent job of capturing what it means to be young and gay. I feel comfortable recommending this book to some of my students especially my LGBTQ kids. It has a good messege and hard realities.

This book was excellent! I was thrilled to win a copy through Goodreads just based on the jacket copy. Let me tell you, this book didn't disappoint! This is only the second of Scottoline's books that I've read but I am definitely a fan now.
I could not put this book down. I didn't figure out what was REALLY going on until the second to last chapter. And even then I was shocked! I thought things were over but they weren't...not by a long shot. This is the kind of book I love and it is worth your time to check out too.

What was the point of Chris Hemsworth?
Nostalgic at the same time completely novel
It's like Bridesmaids mixed together with the original Ghostbusters. The wit and humour was completely innovative, not even comparable to the original which was excellent, however, the fact that the original four were super clumsy with their weapons was part of the charm - totally missed in this where they seem to be martial art masters after several attempts. The cameos were brilliant, only missing Harold Ramis. Enjoyable but not on the same level by far.

Exceptional Drama
I saw the trailer for this some time ago and told myself i would watch it at some point. Well i started season 1 ten days ago and I am already half way through season 3. Its dark gritty and if you like drug cartel related programs then this is for you. What i liked particularly is that the story of Pablo Escobar unfolds for the first two seasons both through the eyes of the DEA and through Pablo himself. We get to find out what he was like as a man and a trafficker. Its an excellent watch, definitely recommended

Sub-par Plot
Uhhh...What?
Plot? Here Plot! Holy crap this movie made no sense at all, I *barely* understood where they were going with it and boy was it an hour too long! The movie was dragged out with a bunch of unnecessary scenes that could have been thrown on the cutting room floor with no problems. The visual effects were gorgeous though, for a movie made in 2009 it really stepped up to the plate. The characters were half-half, some were excellent, others...well they were about as interesting as finger nail clippings. Wouldn't waste your time with this one!

This book has a specific audience, and it can be hard to tell if you're a part of it. From the perspective of the confused Christian, it's a great resource. Sanders does an excellent job of describing why people are leaving Christianity for Neo-Pagan religions. She turns a critical eye on her own faith and holds it up to Wicca to figure out the appeal. Where she fails, though, is in thinking she's going to convert anyone. Her proselytizing takes up only so much of the book. I would definitely recommend it for the bewildered Christian, but it certainly isn't an "Occult/Witchcraft" book, as the back claims.
