Sensitivemuse (246 KP) rated Song of Blood and Stone in Books

Great fantastical world, excellent characters
I greatly enjoyed reading this one. Not only was the fantasy world written well and different, but the characters had excellent chemistry and the plot flowed to make the reading enjoyable and quick.
The world building is excellent and different. The story alternates in between with Jack and Jasminda’s point of view, but also there are some chapters that tell the background story of how their world was created. I enjoyed these alternating chapters. It provides better structure of the setting, it provides the mythology and a better understanding of the “True Father” and “The Queen who Sleeps”. It’s well written and everything comes together seamlessly.
The plot itself is also excellent. I love the concept of “Silents” and “Songbearers” and both are living side by side but marred by war and prejudice. And did you ever see the hate towards Jasminda throughout the book. You get angry at her treatment but Jasminda bears it and she does it well. The plot is pretty fast paced and it’s feels like a fast read - not to mention the fact that it’s very interesting. There’s a good mix of fantasy, action, and romance. What wasn’t really necessary was the Lizvette part. It made that aspect predictable and it didn’t really mesh well with what was going on with all the other things. It felt like it was placed there for filler reasons (I mean, we all know who Jack was going to go for a this point…)
Now for Jack and Jasminda.
I LOVED both of them together. They had this chemistry going on and you could feel it throughout the novel. It was heart wrenching in various parts of the book and you wanted to reach out to them and MAKE them go together (Jack you deserve some slaps of stupidity for some of the stuff you said). They’re both great characters and Jasminda’s development throughout the novel was excellent. Despite the changes she went through she didn’t lose her sass and her ferocious independence (love how this exasperates Jack by the way lol)
Definitely looking forward to the second book of this series! The ending was great (and I’m sure there’s way more battles to come)

Excellent Debut
From the first page you are gripped by this sassy PI and her hectic life. She is not rich and loves her job, even if there are certain twist to her busy life. You feel as if you are actually Kinsey and when you get to the end you know you have to get B is for ....
GameCritics (290 KP) rated To The Moon in Video Games
Oct 20, 2017
To the Moon's excellent storytelling never veers off course and is one of the best we've experienced this year. While the game may not offer much in terms of a challenge, or even gameplay, it does offer a rich and thought-provoking narrative

Shaun Collins (3 KP) rated Lethbridge-Stewart: Mind of Stone (#10) in Books
Jan 12, 2018
Yet another excellent entry into the Lethbridge-Stewart series that features a slow, but deliberate build to a breakneck climax. With a James Bond feel, it makes a great capstone to this particular season of books, all of which have been solid. Can't recommend these enough for Doctor Who fans, or fans of sci-fi in general. Mothergamer (1598 KP) rated Hannibal - Season 3 in TV
Aug 19, 2017
Excellent Show
Great show because of the cast and the artistic style. Mads Mikkelsen is amazing as Hannibal Lecter and he definitely scared me. The show always had me on the edge of my seat until the very end. I was pretty bummed when the show ended, but I still watch it again every now and then because it is that good.
Frecklefinger (10 KP) rated The Wizard of Oz (1939) in Movies
Aug 14, 2017
It's amazing how a movie made so long ago can still enchant so thoroughly. I am still in awe every time it switches from black and white to color. It is just beautiful. The acting is great, the characters are excellent, the songs are fun, and I own a pair of ruby slippers at the age of 34 because of this masterpiece.

Brilliant & brutal
A great story with a great cast. Christoph Waltz is one of my favourite actors at present and is excellent here. The story is engrossing although some scenes are very graphic with a lot of violence, what else from a Tarantino film. One of the best Westerns for a long while.

a good 30+ hours spent listening to all these many and varied short stories. My first introduction the Dunc and Egg (G.R.R.Martin) I picked this up for the Robin Hobb story which, as always, didn't disappoint. I have however now found many other excellent authors to feast my eyes and ears on. Enjoy reading or listening, it is definitely worth the time.
