Well this book started off a bit on the slow side...not like King normally. But let me tell you, once the story got rolling it was hard to put down! And in true Stephen King fashion the ending was fantastic!! My jaw hit the floor & I found myself thinking, "okay, so when does the next book come out!?" The characters are true & real. The plot itself could easily be ripped from the headlines. I can't wait for more!

This is one of those rare books that I actually stayed up until 2am to read in one go. I think my favorite part about it was the unusual writing style employed by the author. The focus frequently switches between Hannah's voice on the tapes and Clay's reaction to her words in a coherent fashion that unlike some books is not confusing at all. If they ever made this into a movie I'd definitely watch it.

Good Gangster Film
Far from being in the same league as Goodfellas, Casino. However this is an enjoyable British film showing the rise and fall of an East London gangster getting involved in the drug scene in Spain. Set in the 80's with the typical fashion of the time but with a great soundtrack to boot. Quite violent, brutal and with a lot of swearing as well but an interesting story all the same.

Addictive
Covet Fashion is a fun game where you can create looks on dolls based on basic requirements some as simple as "style a look for a picnic date" to more complicated ones because it will require certain items. It's slow going at first but as you get better you'll earn more outfits. Be sure to connect to FB and JOIN FB GROUPS and make friends because you can borrow from their closets. You don't even have to be into fashion to like this g and just being creative and having fun. Joining the FB groups is also important because they will help tell you what dresses are "trending" of course you don't have to always follow the trends I tend to follow them sometime and go my own way others. Your scores are also decided by fellow players voting not just a random system or algorithm

Deceptively fabulous feminist book
This quaint, quirky mystery novel has so many themes intertwined in a logical fashion that I'm considering it to be near perfect.

With magical realism as a major part of this tale, I was initially apprehensive to what conclusion could be achieved without drifting off on a tangent. However, it came together revealing its true purpose, that of the women who at the beginning seemed meek and mild, but actually were at the heart of the plot. Well written.

Very easy to understand, yet very deep and meaningful
Beautiful, sad story that will make you hug your loved ones a little longer
"I adored this book. In typical Mitch Albom fashion, it was short and to the point (only around 200 pages), but it still brought on countless emotions about desire, regret, longing, and wasting time. For One More Day will make you hug your loved ones a little longer." -from my Bookstagram account, rorythereader .

Book Favorite

"Want a thousand pages of pure romantic anxiety in which the biggest war in our nation’s history is just a mere backdrop for the heartache of a woman who should probably be in Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous? Then this is the book for you! I loved the descriptions of food when I was younger, and also of fashion and French kissing, and it’s a real master class in plot, pacing and how to sew a dress out of window decorations!"

The Golden Child (1986)
The Golden Child (1986)

Well, that hasn't aged very well.

Mid 80s Eddie Murphy vehicle, with Eddie playing the part of an investigator who specialises in finding lost children and who is hired to find the mystical 'Golden Child', who has been kidnapped from a remote Tibetan monastery and who is supposed to save mankind from themselves.

What follows is a strange blend of (mild) horror, oriental mysticism and crime movie as Murphy is in the case.

Definitely an 80s movie in soundtrack, attitude and fashion.

Of all of the the movies in this collection this was the best. Usually the first is because it is most original. The story of a serial killer who kidnaps his victims based in what crimes they have committed in their lives and makes them choose to live or die via playing a very ideally games which usually involves them dismembering themselves in some fashion. SOme learn some don't. The series now contains 6 sequells they should have stopped at 1

The Devil Wears Prada (2006)

Story: The Devil Wears Prada starts as newly graduated journalist Andy Sachs (Hathaway) gets a chance to work as the second assistant to editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Streep) at a high fashion magazine. Andy must learn to get through the cold nature of Miranda who always looks down on her and everybody, to get through a year which could put her in a position in the journalist world she has always been dreaming off.

Thoughts on The Devil Wears Prada

Characters – Miranda Priestly is the feared editor-in-chief of a fashion magazine, her presence makes her employees dress to impress, everybody in the industry respects her opinion and for some reason she decides to take on Andy, she pushes Andy to the limits to see if she is good enough to work or her, like all the employees. Andy Sachs is a journalist graduate who is looking to a job in any publication, she doesn’t understand the fashion industry with this job being her gateway to her dream job, but she must learn fast or face being eaten alive in this industry. Her time in the job sees her change who she once was, pushing her friends and boyfriend away. This one-year job could see her future open, but her friendships vanish. Emily is the first assistant under Miranda, she knows the ins and outs of the business and has been waiting for this role for years. She doesn’t like Andy because she doesn’t have the same desire in the fashion industry. Nigel is the only person in the office that Andy gets along with, he does help put her on the right track for success under Miranda.

Performances – Meryl Streep is fantastic in this leading role, she brings a horrible boss to life, without making her seem like a truly horrible person, just somebody career driven. Anne Hathaway is wonderful too, to start with it seemed weird that she wasn’t considered the right body shape for position in the fashion world, but it does make perfect sense with how this world is working. Emily Blunt brings what should be a small role, to be one of the most interesting and entertaining part of the film. Stanley Tucci is a delight in the supporting role being the moral compass for the Andy character.

Story – The story follows a recent graduated journalist that takes a job working under one of the most notoriously difficult editors in the industry, here she must learn the industry to stand a chance to above water in this world, while gaining the experience she requires for her own success. This story first shows how difficult finding the first job for experience could be for any former student trying to get int the industry, it shows how fast the learning curve could be, how you can be looked upon as a replacement for others job too. It shows us how careers can take over lives if you let them which is important for how Andy changes through the story. most importantly it shows us just how you should never forget where you came from and the people that were there for you when you needed them. You will also get to have a laugh at how the fashion industry is considered to operate at the pace which could make or break careers in no time.

Comedy – The comedy in this film come from seeing how the world operates, seeing Andy needing to learn fast, the relationship with Emily and just how everyone can act over the top about the smallest detail.

Settings – The film is set mostly in New York, it shows how the business lives can move at such a pace it would be hard to keep up.

Scene of the Movie – Andy sees a real side of Miranda.

That Moment That Annoyed Me – Not understand brand names.

Final Thoughts – This is an enjoyable comedy with wonderful performances from the whole cast.

Overall: Enjoyable comedy.
