KatieLouCreate (162 KP) rated Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) in Movies

I love this film. It is just so magical and innocent at the same time. The world building is great and the effort that went into the making of this film really paid off. It is one of few book to film franchise that I actually enjoy. Sure, the film isn't 100% the same as the book, but it never will be. They are two different platforms.
However, the film itself has some memorable moments and although, for a lot of people I know, this film is one of their least favourite of the series, I think it is one of the best. It is the premise of the entire film. The later films are better in the sense that the plot has thickened, the stakes are higher, and you are more involved with the story-line and the characters. But I could literally quote the entirety of this film, which is something I cannot do with the other Harry Potter films.

Charlotte Ozanne (108 KP) rated A Bad Moms Christmas (2017) in Movies

Before watching this film, I thought it was a spin-off to the Bad Mom's film series, I did not realise it is actually the sequel to the original film. I was a bit dubious as to how this movie would entertain, as most sequels tend to be worse than the original. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the Christmas version as it bested the first film. In my opinion, the comedy was top-notch (no surprise considering the immense cast). I would definitely recommend this film, though please take note of the age certification - it is 15 for a reason! I don't think you need to have seen the first film in order to watch this sequel. I couldn't remember the content first film despite remembering watching it at the cinema with my mum. There's only one small scene which ties the first film into it but you get the gist of what happened.

Terrible
Another low budget Horror on Netflix to avoid. Hoped for a decent slasher film in a remote setting. About 5 minutes of a horror film the rest about a bunch of brats messing about alone in a big house in the middle of nowhere.

This film lives up to its expectations and so much more. My favorite kinds of films are ones that have a short timeline because it allows for a much richer story, for the most part. This film is everything you want in a film - love, action, a good plot, a great cast, a good story, and a character to hold onto.
There's a certain elegance to this film that only comes out in a few other movies. There is just something about this film that just gets you and pulls you in and keeps you still. Not just in a physical way.
I really enjoyed this film and can't recommend it enough.
