Much better than most of the Friday the 13th films

Slasher fan heaven

A pretty cool hack'n'slash film. Almost tongue in cheek at times, it could almost be a spoof of both series of films. The effects are cool and there is plenty of blood for gore fans. Nice to see a recent film starring these two cult film characters giving the fans what they like.

The way the various stories cross over

The visual look of the film

Comic book comes to life

A very stylish film based on a graphic novel, the film has a largely monochrome look which works well with the comic element. The film consists of a few stories that cross paths in Sin city. All of them are very good as well as the main story piecing them together. Very original.

I have always been of the opinion that Marvel had the best heroes and DC had the best villas, so a film full of villas sounded like a dream, unfortunately it wasn't. The best thing about the whole movie was Harley Quinn, as a character she dominated the entire film and all the other villas were pretty much superfluous. Not a great film, in fact not a very good film.

Not as good as hoped but ok

This film was centred mostly around the parents who I think were a very strong cast, I had a few laughs during the film but I did expect there to be more comedy. It did border on a chick flick kind of film, with the parent scenes breaking that up. All in all, it was s good film with a great cast but I was a little disappointed.

"This film is my church. It’s the first Gus Van Sant film I saw, and I was blown away. He zeroed in on a subculture that I thought only I knew about. MOPI is a very ahead-of-its-time film, and I felt privileged to be able to participate with even a small commentary on the Criterion release. The film has never been more gorgeous than it is on the Criterion release"

Something about this sequence seemed to define the essence of cinephilia. Perhaps it’s just the thought of seeing actors watch another film within a film I’m watching."
