"Dirty Mind is the first one where I feel Prince became the Prince we all know and love. There had been somewhat suggestive lyrics with 'Soft & Wet', which came out earlier, but this is where he went full force with songs like 'Sister' and 'Head'. The record cover, the whole package, really says something to me. Instead of looking like a black guy from Minneapolis, he looks New Wave and you can't really tell what he is. He's got bed springs behind him and the album is called Dirty Mind, the first song is called 'Dirty Mind' and it just hits you over the head with this new direction. Maybe my favourite song on the record is 'Partyup', the last song on it. I understand there's rumours that he sort of traded that song with Morris Day. He said if you give me that song I'll record an album for you or I'll put together The Time For You. It's just an amazing song. Spoon covered it a long time ago for this Prince compilation."

"As often happens the first record you really get into by an artist, sometimes it's hard to replace that one. She's had great records since but this is the first one that I was blown away by. This record came out in the summer of '98 and my band had been dropped by Elektra. Right after that I moved into the guest room of my best friend's house. I had nowhere to go, I didn't have any money and now I certainly had nothing to do. My relationship with my girlfriend was on the rocks and this was the record I had on in this very bleak moment. Constantly on. It was a thing where it hurts to put it on. It hurts to listen to 'No Sense' and 'Metal Heart'. It's too raw almost. But again, I like being able to feel something in music. I still love it and play it and I still feel like I'm sitting in my friend's extra room in October with the window open and the rain is coming down. It still gives me that feeling."

"There's a song on our new record called 'Us' that is sort of free-flowing, a little ambient, more of a soundscape than a song. For the most part we haven't gone there a lot. The only thing I would say is that I have a tendency to try and write songs where you stay in one mood the whole time. I've broken out of that a few times but that's my general tendency, to not add a bridge that changes the mood of the song. I want to get into the feeling of a song and stay there, and find a way to keep that interesting. And I think that's what is happening on records like this. It's all about a mood. This record makes me feel like it's, you know, I got into it when I was a sophomore in high school and I was going through my first real relationship. I still feel it listening to this record. It sounds like cold Temple Texas and falling in love for the first time. "

Chloe grace morertz
Not enough Ken jeong (0 more)
My first cinema review in 7 months glad to be back okay not my first choice due to the film I was meant to see having technical issues but never mind there's always tomorrow
On to the movie itself people of certain age would remember watching old tom and Jerry cartoons including me and I used to love them as child always cheering on Jerry mouse trying to escape tom the cat and always exceeding.
So watching the movie brought memories of those Saturday mornings the humor the slapstick the pain on Tom's face as he's hit by some object or being chased by spike the bulldog all there. And there's the human acting not so great saving grace for me is chloe grace moretz who steals the show for me but there wasn't enough Ken jeong for me just needed a bit more then I would have been happy. Overall glad to be back In my local cineworld again

"The first thing I should say is that it's not necessarily in order of favouritism. It was purely just well, what can I put down, and then rifling through and changing my mind and then going on to something else. But Flipron are a band that when I had a recording studio they turned up and said something like we've got a hundred quid, how much time can we have. And I just really liked them and I really liked the songs that they'd got. So two years later they were in the studio and we became firm friends. I produced a couple of records for them as well. But it's a funny thing because I prefer the stuff I wasn't involved with, of which this album is one. My studio closed down and we all went off and did our own thing and then they turned up with their first two albums. And with this one I just really love the songs on it. Each one is kind of like a story."

Spider-Man (2002)
Spider-Man (2002)
2002 | Action, Sci-Fi
The first major blockbuster Spider-Man movie hasn't aged particularly well, but it's overflowing with charm and a great cast.

Watching this as an adult is still as much fun as it was back in 2002 (when I was a fresh faced 13 year old). Tobey Maguire, Willem Defoe, James Franco, Kirsten Dunst, Cliff Robertson, Rosemary Harris, J.K. Simmons - all of them are really well cast and bring their comic book counterparts to life in a way that captured the imaginations of comic fans everywhere, all backed up by a fantastic score by Danny Elfman.

It's faults are few, but mainly in line with the first X-Men film - it's just doesn't quite stand up compared to comic films today and suffers from sub standard CGI and an early 2000s time stamp - I must say though - I have a special kind of love for the borderline Power Rangers villain costume that Green Goblin gets to wear...

Spider-Man is an important milestone in bringing comic books to the big screen, and will surely be enjoyed for years to come.

This book was, as I've read in many reviews, very beautiful and poetic. It made me hurt, made me angry, made me smile and gave me hope. But the third person narrative was confusing, because one sentence would be focused on James while the next focused on Marilyn and the transition was not always clear enough to not be confusing at first. The chapters were so long and, honestly, the first 1/3 of the book was so boring I almost put it down for good. However, the story in itself was very emotional - I didn't cry, but it definitely had me feeling some type of way. It was also scary, the notion that happiness can be taken away so quickly and easily, even when there are so many signs pointing to a change; and not just for one person, but for many people at once. While I didn't love this book, it's given me something deep and profound to think about while I lay awake at nights.

I'm sad to say I didn't care for this story. It started out with clichés, insta-love, and cheesiness (and no, not the cute kind of cheesy). Everything felt forced, none of the scenes seemed to flow - Zoe and Zeke's first night together was awkward, not sexy. Then, of all things, Zoe finds out she's pregnant! *eyeroll* The author didn't make it feel like months had passed, so it literally seemed as if she found out she was pregnant just a couple of weeks after their first time. Another thing that really, truly grated on my nerves was how Zeke kept begging Zoe to not deny him sex. This is all he worried about! His words, "please don't ever deny me sex" went straight through me, for some reason. I can say the murderer was a surprise, if only because she's mentioned once or twice throughout the whole book, and the reason behind the murders is a bit farfetched. All in all, I was disappointed and I have no plans to continue reading this series.

Yes, I watched it twice... well why not? I've got Unlimited and it was very entertaining.

I'm going to dispense with most of the "official" waffle about this one. You know it's going to be a kick ass action movie and you know it's going to be funny. Some bits were a little awkward, and it probably wasn't as good as the first one, but it was still really enjoyable.

This one might make you want to lay off the burgers for a little while, but it will also make you love Mark Strong/Merlin even more than you did in the first place.

I do have one bugbear though, the trailer shows you part of the car chase with Galahad in the taxi, the music they use is a remix of The Who's song, My Generation. It works amazingly well. But of course like so many movies, that song was only used in the trailer, and the music that was over it in the film didn't work for me.
