This book took me a little while to get into, but once I got through the first few chapters, I was hooked! This is a long, philosophically dense book, but do not let that deter you. It is anything, but boring, and it will make you think. The main conflict in the novel is Faith vs Doubt. The characters are so dynamic that I believed they were real people. Definitely take your time reading this one. I read it in two months, and there is so much to it that I want to read it again. I think I will read a different translation every time. I actually regret that I can't read it in Russian. I would love to experience this novel in it's original glory.

Fat chance!
It's not long before they become embroiled in yet another mystery following the appearance (and subsequent disapperance of) a mysterious stranger, who claims to be able to lead them to an Egyptian Queen's lost tomb.
Told, as before, thorugh Amelia's eyes, this also (eventually) brings Emerson's brother Walter and his wife Evelyn - who are going through a rough patch - back to Egypt where they first met and fell in love, as well as depicting the teenaged interactions/arguments/jealousies between Amelia's precocious son Ramses and their just-as-precocious ward Nefret.

The plot itself is interesting and who doesn’t love a good debunking of the paranormal. It’s a slow film and could’ve done with a little more excitement but it’s got a great cast even though it would’ve been nice to see more of Toby Jones. The best bit about this film is by far the twist ending. I can usually guess a twist well before it happens, but for some reason I completely missed this one. Maybe I’m losing it, or maybe it’s just a really good twist. It may not be the best paced film but it’s definitely worth a watch.

BUT this movie did promise one thing, more Kaiju more Godzilla instead of the pitiful 10 minutes screen time on our last outing. boy did it deliver of the Kaiju battles in spades.
That’s all I wanted was to see Godzilla battle it out with Mothra, Ghiadora and whoever else, just take me back to my childhood and give me epic scale monster fights. I felt this movie delivered that unapologetically so it’s a win.
Also I kinda love seeing Kyle Chandler in things.
