Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald (2018)
Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald (2018)
2018 | Adventure, Family, Fantasy, Mystery
Let me start out by saying, if you have never seen the first Fantastic Beasts movie or have little knowledge of the Wizarding World, you will probably not understand this movie.
Personally, I loved it! Yes, there is the whole McGonagall not being born yet situation, but I can look past that to all the depth put into the movie. It provided the audience with an overload of information to prepare the viewer for future movies. Newt has become my favorite character! Also, the baby Nifflers are adorable. Let’s not forget to mention that huge twist in the end! I’m still slightly confused over THAT, but there are lots of theories and ideas going through my brain. So, if you are a Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts fan, go watch it!

Harrowing yet perfect
Without spoilers it is hard to review really but this novel is one of the best narratives I have ever read. The apocalyptic premise is more intense than many available and the idea behind it is just horrific enough to stay with me since I first read it. The characters are well rounded and built to become emotional ties to the reader and the novel although apocalyptic is filled with hope of a brighter future. I understand it to be a young person's novel however I feel that in many cases the depth may be lost on the young and the premise may be a little intense but I have recommended it to everyone I know and will continue to do so.

The Terminator (1984)
The Terminator (1984)
1984 | Action, Sci-Fi
The first - and, in my opinion, best - film in The Terminator series, where Arnie first portrays what would become his signature role: the story goes that he was originally approached for the role of Kyle Reese before reading the script and opting instead to play The Terminator, the unstoppable cyborg killing machine of the title, with 80s action hero (and James Cameron stalwart) instead taking on the role of Reese.

Of note is how every action Arnie carries out is with an economy of movement (just like a machine), and just how unstoppable The Terminator is in this movie (notably diminished in future instalments), with the plot essentially one long chase scene setting up a temporal time loop, especially evident in the DVD deleted scenes: that warehouse for the final showdown? Belongs to Cyberdene systems.

I honestly do not have anything bad to say about The Good Place and thoroughly enjoyed watching it over the Christmas holidays! Full of imagination and creativity. The story line is great and also explores psychology and philosophy, which I could really relate to as I have a strong interest in those subjects. The actors are great and watching this really made me think about my own actions and behaviours and how I can improve. What effect do my actions have on others, as well as myself and my future. I'm waiting for season 2 episode 2 for tomorrow! Weekly episodes ensure I have something to look forward to at the end of each week! Fabulous series, thoroughly enjoy it
