Perry Larkin (8 KP) rated Baby Driver (2017) in Movies

Follow that beat
The style of the movie and the natural rhythm of Baby made this movie one of my favorites of the year! I loved every second of the soundtrack and how well it dragged the movie through the storyline. It was such a different way of telling a movie. The gore and violence was a little extreme but paired with the softness of the movie, even the most sensitive could get past that and enjoy the underlying tone.

Timeless classic
Tried to mark it as 10 out of 10, but program wouldn't let me. At 50 years old, I still enjoy watching this movie almost as much as I did when I was a kid. I really hope no producer or movie studio tries to remake this movie with CG as they will ruin it!

Emma Tucker (52 KP) rated The Limehouse Golem (2016) in Movies

I really enjoyed this film. I loved the way that it explored the gritty streets of Victorian London and the acting is superb, especially from Olivia Cooke and Bill Nighy. The ending is a little predictable but I don't feel this ruins the film as it is still extremely well done and extremely clever. Just a warning though there is a lot of gore and violence. So if you're not a fan of that stuff then be aware what you're in for.

Dean (6927 KP) rated The Tripper (2007) in Movies

A strange, stoner slasher produced and directed by David Arquette (Scream). It's quite a decent modern slasher, quite odd but the back story as to why this guy goes off the rails killing hippies is explained. Less so the high regard Ronald Regan is given. It's funny in places, has a fair bit of gore, I found the tripping hallucinations a tad annoying. There is even a brief cameo from Courtney Cox-Arquette. Overall pretty good compared to many recent slasher offerings.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2340 KP) rated Slay Ride (Christopher Miller Holiday Thriller, #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
A complaint about a bad shuttle driver leads to a kidnapping and possible murder. Meanwhile, FBI agent Christopher Miller is called back to the field for a robbery that is more than it appears. Yes, these two plots cross, and the suspense keeps the pages turning. However, I found the language and gore in the book to be too much for my tastes.

Decent remake
Didn't have high hopes for this when I originally saw at the theatre, but I was pleasantly surprised. Haven't just rewatched, it holds up as a decent horror thriller with some great make up gore, work with wax (obviously) and some gruesome horror kill scenes.
It's your typical young adults stranded in backwater USA when the ghouls come out to play, but I found it entertaining if you don't think about it too much.

Kane hodder (2 more)
Tony Todd
Danielle Harris
Just watched the second hatchet movie more of the same from Victor crowley as he takes on hunters who have come into his swamp looking for him with the survivor of the first film. Not as good as the first film but plenty of gore and some nasty kills bigger role this time from Tony Todd as rev zombie. But the real star once again is kane hodder as Victor . Thumbs up from me
