This is Sparta
300- is a excellent film. Zack Snyder did a excellent job with this film. This was his 2nd film he did and it really put him on the map, cause after this he did "Watchman" and "Man of Steel". His remake of "Dawn of the Dead" was excellent. 300 has excellent visuals, gory, vengeances and epicnest. Gerald Bulter does a excellent job in this.
The plot: In 480 B.C. a state of war exists between Persia, led by King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), and Greece. At the Battle of Thermopylae, Leonidas (Gerard Butler), king of the Greek city state of Sparta, leads his badly outnumbered warriors against the massive Persian army. Though certain death awaits the Spartans, their sacrifice inspires all of Greece to unite against their common enemy.
The film is a shot-for-shot adaptation of the comic book, similar to the film adaptation of Sin City.
Its a excellent movie and a must see.

I really enjoyed this.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw the amount of 1 and 2 star reviews for this, but I have to say I liked it. Okay, so it wasn't a typical paranormal romance. It has several gory scenes and some scary characters but there's still romance in it. And it's probably leaning more toward Urban Fantasy with a splash of Horror mixed in. I'll say it isn't for the squeamish because there are some detailed scenes of deformity and injuries and it isn't always pretty reading.
I really liked the two main characters, Nathan and Carrie, and some of the lesser seen ones; Ziggy, Max and the butler that I've currently forgotten the name of :S.
The progression of Carrie from concerned Doctor to kick-arse vampire hunter was an interesting journey and I loved her relationship with Nathan. They are so good together.

The third entry into the Leprechaun series is more of the same. Silly nonsense with questionable performances, bad jokes, and a plot that disregards anything that happened in previous films, and as per usual, it's still kind of enjoyable. At least there's some consistency!
Warwick Davies has just about perfected his little shit of a villain at this point, and I actually think he's a bit funnier this time around. The rest of the cast is what you would usually expect from a Leprechaun film, but it's always a treat to see scream queen Caroline Williams, and she's a welcome presence throughout this movie.
There's some decent effects work on display, some suitably gory and unique kills, and the Las Vegas setting is as fitting as it is inevitable for this franchise.
I would say that Leprechaun 3 is probably my favourite entry so far. Still trashy as fuck though, but to it's credit, it's fun and doesn't get boring.

This sequel to the average-at-best See No Evil is sadly a bottom of the barrel mess.
It's takes everything from the first film, and makes it so much worse - the characters are dumber and even more unlikable (although this time we're mercifully spared from the edgy mugshot introductions - it's the small victories), the story is less cohesive, the setting is somehow more boring, and it's less gory. I know that gore isn't the be all and end all of horror, but when you're making a run of the mill slasher, then it's expected. At least the first film packed a bit of a punch in that regard.
Glenn 'Kane' Jacobs is probably the best thing going here. His killer is still suitably intimidating, but he's stuck in a huge turd of a film unfortunately.
I'd still just about take this over Leprechaun Origins, but would rather just forget that WWE horror films are a thing at this point.

Horror-SF from David Cronenberg. A man with psychic powers is sent to infiltrate a dangerous network of others with similar abilities: they have many subtle telepathic and telekinetic powers, such as being able to make people's heads explode.
Actually rather less graphic and icky than the film's reputation (and advertising) might suggest; the really spectacularly gory bits bookend the movie, and much of the rest of it looks like a relatively conventional thriller. The film is arguably ahead of its time in its suspicion of the military-industrial complex and big pharma; there is perhaps a subtext about the souring of 60s idealism as free-thinkers are persecuted or exploited by vested interests. Pretty good performances from the hero and the villain, but (not really surprisingly) Patrick McGoohan steals the film as the protagonist's father-figure. A thoughtful and intelligent film that isn't afraid to really go for the splatter now and then.

Fight scenes
I won a DVD in a give-away and here is my honest review, on the movie.
I really enjoyed the movie and went into it knowing full well it was a fight movie. I was pleasantly surprised that there was a bit of a storyline. I think it did a good job balancing out what was expected from those who played the game, except one scene that I was slightly sad they didn't end the fight in a certain way but that is completely personal preference.
I liked the CGI, it wasn't over done.
There is a lot of gore and I think it definitely holds up the R rating. I haven't watched or played Mortal Combat since the early 2000s but was able to follow along really well. It may help if you have some familiarity with the game especially for the Easter Eggs like catchphrases and backgrounds but not completely necessary.

Who knew that I’d enjoy a book about a food critic who branches out to the more refined tastes of cannibalism. And yet here we are.
I mean, if you’re going to murder someone, why not go the whole hog and make something nice out of their buttocks or their tongue? Yes, it’s gory, but Dorothy Daniels is such a narcissistic psychopath that it’s all done so terribly nicely.
I listened to this on audiobook as I read it, and maybe I’ve been able to take something else from this. The Narrator, Dorothy (aka Hillary Huber), sounded superior, well-educated and completely logical. Obviously she’s not - she’s writing her memoir sat in a prison cell!
What would have been the icing on the cake, would have been someone finding her memoirs at the end.
Clearly this will be a marmite book, and as someone who is usually ambivalent about marmite, I actually rather liked Dorothy Daniels and her distinctive tastes!

I was told how gory and scary this book was and I was kinda expecting more! It was a good read but just that a good read. When I’m told to expect gore and horror then I want it to hit me in the face and this didn’t. The story was ok and well told but yea I wanted so much more!

Following on (sort of) from Saw 2 we find Jigsaw testing more people in another convoluted and gory game whilst Amanda (the pig) also runs her own games, only this time she has changed the rules.
This is an odd film for couple of reasons:
First up it does a really good job of build on some of the characters . We find out a lot more about Amanda, her relationship with Jigsaw and how his games have affected her. Then we have Eric Matthews & Kerry, two of the characters from the previous films who are killed off at the beginning of this one (although, as always, some things are not as they seem) and so we have two characters who also grown and used to add to the plot just disposed of. I would have liked to see more of Kerry but then I would also have liked to see more of Officer Tapp from the first film (still, he lives on, along with another character in the game 'Dead by Daylight).
Second, this is the most gory Saw so far, Amanda's games have a lot of blood but some of the most disturbing scenes are not part of the games but of Jigsaw having surgery. I think that is due to the fact that that is more real than the games.

As with the other films, Saw 3 is not for the faint hearted with scenes of mutilation, self harm, threat and (dead) pigs being minced it defiantly relies on gore and disturbing images to upset the audience. It goes without saying that, if you're not a fan of gore then this is not for you but, if you have seen any of the others then you will know what to expect.
