Don't know why the grief
I'm not sure why this movie got so much hate. I truly enjoyed it, and loved the expanded Force abilities introduced. Ben and Rey are much better this time out than before, and I like that they are moving away from the original cast and into newer characters.

"I love this woman’s writing. I’ve read everything, but this was the first. I finished it in the bath and cried my eyes out. It’s about grief, love, loss...all the big stuff. I went to a book reading of hers with the sole purpose of befriending her. It worked. We text!"

From A Ghost Story’s lyrical exploration of grief to newcomer Danielle Macdonald’s virtuoso rap performances in Patti Cake$, the best indie movies of the summer of 2017 were, as always, an antidote to superhero fatigue and a trove of wonders to which we'll no doubt be returning.

Here are some of Time's favourite indie movies:

For every Wonder Woman, and Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 that raked in hundreds of millions at the box office this summer, there were half a dozen indies that dazzled audiences. Here are Time's list

"I recently lost my mother and have been reading a huge amount about grief, bereavement and mourning. This is the only thing I have read that gets close to the experience of loss and the way in which it suspends our entire, usual understanding of time. A wonderful piece of work from the English poet."

Makes you cry and makes you smile.
A wonderful kids' movie that went way deeper than expected. What was expected to be a light-hearted, funny movie, turned out to go into some very mature themes. It talked about grief, depression, and letting go, but still, has the funny comedy to go with it. Definitely, check it out.

I am so glad I was given a copy of this to read and review. This is my kind of book. Intriguing and scary. I could not put this down!!! Would be a great beach read! The pictures that are scattered in the book really bring the setting and feel to life.

Grief can do crazy things!

"Oh, Patty. I miss you! Her debut novel moved me really deeply. It's so personally written, although it is also a dry dissection of an experience with death, also of a brother. Having lost my own brother recently, Patty's book, along with “Fourteen Stories,” reminds me that there is a way out of grief, which is creativity."

Tearjerker, exploring a young boy's grief
This was an unexpected little gem of a drama showing how a boy, who is having to deal with tremendous trauma, manifests his grief.

From being bullied, abandoned and dealing with a mother dying from cancer, one day a monster in the form of a tree visits him to reveal various tales with a moral context. These come in the form of beautiful animations, not too dissimilar from The Three Brothers sequence in one of the final Harry Potter films. What we have to establish is whether the boy is actually encountering this monster or whether it is part of his repressed emotions.

Acting from the entire cast including Felicity Jones and more so the young child actor was fantastic. An interesting watch.
