You follow the story of uncle Tom, a slave living in Kentucky. His story is one of hardship, pain, and loneliness with beautiful examples of love and faith woven through.
Eliza is also an important character. She's a woman fighting to keep her family together and free. Her adventurous escape is daring and dangerous. Thrilling to say the least!
This book is impossible to put down! It fosters deep thoughts and perspectives about slavery and racism. Not an easy read but definitely worth it!

It is also good how the film has handled the subject of everything included and hello... LGBTQ is within the film and that’s amazing!
Great to see Simon go through the whole journey and end up finding Blue even after everything he’s went through.
Also, may have been more into watching it because of the great cast within the film - like Nick Robinson (who plays Simon).
Would definitely recommend this film as it is amazing!

Be warned though... it is so good you will not ever want to stop reading. You will crave more and you will never be able to guess what happen and next as it’s so unpredictable that it’s amazing to read. I love this series so much, I read so many books and this has made me crave the next volume so much that I keep refreshing the page hoping the release dates are sooner!

I have to say I really enjoyed Owen Mullen’s first two books featuring PI Charlie Cameron – Games People Play and Old Friends and New Enemies – and have been recommending them both to everyone I speak to. This third novel, Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead is even better than the first two!
It may be that once we reach book three we know the characters who feature in all three books. I would love to meet Charlie Cameron!
I felt this book moved at a faster pace than the last which made it impossible to put down. I switched between the paperback and the kindle versions depending on where and when I was reading.
It was gripping and I look forward to Owen Mullen’s next release!

An Eye for a Lie is a brilliant, gripping story that hooks you from the start.
I love a good crime mystery and this definitely falls into that category for me.
Richter is a well written, multi-layered character, although I didn't warm to him straight away but he totally grew on me.
Vessa is pretty cool, admittedly she falls for men like I fall for chocolate, but she's very insightful and has an intelligence that seems to have skipped a few members of the SFPD.
I'm impressed with how well Cy Wyss has managed to keep me entertained and engaged throughout, details are well balanced so I wasn't overwhelmed or bored. It was fab as it brought out the detective in me.
