Yet another gripping read by Helen Fields and one I very much enjoyed
It has everything - a gruesome murder, an isolated creepy location, serial killers, twists, turns, action and fantastic characters all wrapped up in an excellent story that was hard to stop reading even the parts that were quite gruesome.
Dr Connie and her partner, Baarda, are a great team and I would really like to read more about their work together - if there are more stories in the pipeline ... sign me up!
A very tense and riveting read that I highly recommend and thank you Avon Books UK and NetGalley for enabling be to read and share my thoughts of The Institution.

A dark tale of love, marriage and satan worship. Plenty of twists and turns and even some dark comic relief scenes. The acting was good, cinematography was great. The were pretty decent (gruesome) effects. Comedy/horror movie fans will enjoy this one. Not really for the little ones though. Worth a watch!

This book was good. It kept my attention. I think I was only slightly disappointed by the climax part because my expectations were higher because it's Stephen King. I do warn others, if you have a weak stomach, beware because there is gruesome harsh parts in this book. I would recommend the book to others.

Absolutely fascinating and beautiful book to read. I ended up googling some of the facts after reading as couldn't believe it could be true. A completely harrowing and emotional journey in to the concentration camps. Loved it (although prepare yourself as it's very gruesome at times).

Wow...just wow. I read so many reviews of this book and they seemed to be a bit mixed, I almost didn't grab this book to read and I'm glad I gave it chance. Amazing. You have one friend who is dead, one who went to prison and one trying to get to the truth. This book will take you on a journey...and when you get to the end...wholly moly, look out! I enjoyed the journey this book took me on (it is possible for some a few scenes may be too gruesome) but all in all I loved this book and highly suggest it.

Gruesome, gory, deep
The first book of the series, introduces us to DI Jack Caffrey a young successful detective in the Met.
He has seen and done things in life which have hardened him and made him fairly unshakeable and able to handle any given situation.
Is he however prepared for his latest call, five young women have been murdered in a gruesome fashion and the bodies have been dumped by the millennium dome.
As the post mortems come in Jack realises there are similarities in each case and he comes to realise he is now hunting a dangerous serial killer.
He must act fast and use everything at his disposal to catch the killer before he strikes again.

Enjoyable, wonderfully gruesome
The contrast between the main protagonists McGrey and Frey is as curious as Holmes and Watson. One a stuffy Scotland Yard detective another a superstitious, grimy local senior police officer. Using music was a brilliant idea to tie the maccabre altogether. While it definitely feels like part of a series, it's still a good start.
