Depressing situations
humor is too dark
Everyone loves this show, except me.
I found that after watching an episode I wanted to curl up into a ball and just hug my wife and family and be thankful it's not me. But it kept leaving me depressed after watching it. I might just be too sensitive to the emotional turmoil of it. managed to get 3/4 of the way through the season, and had to stop... I'm happier for it.

Good Simple quick game for large groups. normally i hate player elimination but for a 10 minute game it's ok.
this is a fun little filler game, perfect if everyone is sitting around talking and not really paying attention or don't want to pay close attention. The object is to lay down tiles and follow the path trying to keep your pawn alive as long as possible, and out last everyone else. that's it, that is the game.

I went into this book with high expectations from all the hype and the synopsis sounded awesome. I didn’t love it but I also didn’t hate it. It was a bit slow getting into it and some parts got a little confusing throughout the book but it also had a good chunk of parts that had me not wanting to put the book down just because I wanted to see how certain parts played out. It is not a book I will likely read again but now I have read it.

Full of suspense
Did not expect ending
Kristin Hannah has truly captured the chaotic and no-so-perfect sister relationship. Being the oldest of three girls I can relate to this love/hate relationship between the two sisters. How life can lead everyone in different roads but at the end family is the one thing that will always bring you back. No matter what happens family will disappoint, bring you down, and build you up, all at the same time. Cannot wait to read more books by this author.

Do you hate your mother-in-law? You'll LOVE her after this.
Though this book didn't really feel like a "psychological thriller," but rather more of a drama, I definitely enjoyed it. There were several points at which I actually said out loud "oh, come on!" - so I'm going to agree with another reviewer in that it might be better if you suspend disbelief a bit before going into this.

I did NOT see that twist coming! It was worth it for that alone, in my opinion.

Thank you, Minotaur Books, for the ARE!

Oh, Sandra Brown, you never disappoint!
There's a reason Sandra Brown is one of my favorite authors, and Tailspin just cements her more solidly on that list. Another fast-paced ride into suspense (and romance!). Great story - well-researched and believable. I found the aviation aspect very interesting. Terrific characters that will elicit a wide range of emotions from the reader, from "OMG I hate her, she's a terrible person" to "Aww, I really hope things work out for him." I enjoyed this one from beginning to end.

Sigh. I'm now grieving the loss of dear friends, left with only memories. No more new adventures to look forward too. I devoured this trilogy and now I wish I'd paced myself because they're all finished and I'm left empty. As much as I love a good book, a book that sucks me in and makes me feel so much a part of the magic, I hate that last page where I know it's goodbye. Thank you, Cynthia Hand, for a wonderful trilogy that I know I will relive over and over.

Anyone else belong to a bookclub? We have our next meeting on Monday and, as we are a wine-and-dine bookclub, we've going for a curry! Sometimes difficult to think up books to nominate that aren't too long, that people won't hate and will generate some good discussions. I think our favourite so far is probably Rebecca. We allow anyone at the meeting to nominate a book and then it goes to a vote - how do others work theirs? And of course do you have any books that really worked well for bookclub discussion?

I just joined a bookclub last month and so far really enjoy it. Anyone can nominate a book and then we all vote (2 votes each). A book stays on the nomination list for a few months and if it isn't picked it's dropped. We read Station 11 and that got a lot of discussion. Some people loved it (I fell into this camp), others were so so and a few didn't like it at all.

In Twilight by Stephenie Meyer the main character named Bella moves from Phoenix to Forks to live with her father. She meets Edward Cullen later to find out him and his whole family are vampires. One day the Cullens and Bella run into trouble when a vampire who is not part of their coven comes along. I personally love Twilight. I don't get why so many people hate on it and make a big fuss over it not being their cup of tea. I hope Stephenie Meyer continues to write new books.

Some casting choices
When it was released that there would be a Beverly Hills 90210 reboot, most fans thought it would be a sort of continuation of the old show. Instead, it is a mockumentary of a reboot. While it is a bit odd, I don't totally hate it. I am however not thrilled with some of the casting of the fake family. It would have been more believable, or at least less distracting, if the spouses were unknown actors. It would feel a bit less cheesy in my opinion.
