Venom (2018)
Venom (2018)
2018 | Action, Sci-Fi
Like a small dog that an old lady would sneak into a hospital, Venom had plenty of bark leading up to its release but not much bite. I love Tom Hardy, he's one of my favorite actors in the business right now, but even he couldn't save this movie. I feel like they did a great job with Tom Hardy and the Venom character itself, I dug it and got some good laughs out of it. For me though, the story they were stuck in was the real parasite. This is one of those movies I'm sure many will enjoy and many will hate. I always hope everyone enjoys every movie they watch though, no matter my opinion. The voice in my head says to wrap this rambling up so we can go eat, so let me finish with this. Here's to dreaming of a world where one day humans, with all of our opinions and differences, can peacefully intertwine and be symbiotic.

My favourite Marvel Universe movie to date...

Now I'm a Thor girl myself and if anyone asked me my favourite superhero it would always be him. However.... I watched this movie a couple days ago and I think it changed my life! It really puts into perspective how loved Iron Man really was and how much Peter looked up to him as a father figure. It's quite emotional and if I could cry I'm sure I would have. It was also nice to see some closure for poor little Peter and he can finally be happy with MJ... but that ending! I hate Jake Gyllenhaal so personally I'm pretty glad he died and about 1/3 into the movie I said he would be the bad guy... called it! I think I actually screamed a little in the cinema when I watched the end scene.... how can they do this to me!?!

Also like to add... very sad there was no Stan Lee cameo...

Awful MC
Deaf Child Crossing is a middle grade read that tells the story of two nine year old girls. Megan is deaf, and Cindy is the new girl that just moved in to her neighborhood.
I liked Cindy she was a realistic, and tried her best to be a good friend. Unfortunately Megan was the main focus of the book, and she was awful. I will say she was technically realistic just now very likeable. She treats Cindy horribly through most of the book, but it gets played off because Megan is working through stuff. I know this happens in real life but I hate seeing it in literature. It is not okay to treat people like crap just because you are going through something!
I know this book gets a lot of applause for having a deaf character, but I really feel like there has to be better books available.

This is ok, and fingers crossed 🤞 it'll get better the longer it's part of the Arrowverse. It's definitely entertaining....but some of the acting is downright terrible. I suppose it's the writing as well. Ruby Rose - I adore her face, but she has literally one facial expression and that's it. In the most recent episode, she learns something that's supposed to make her cry, and it's honestly painful watching her try to show the emotion. The best acting so far has come from Rachel Skarsten as I-know-I-should-hate-her-but-I-can't villain Alice.

Also: why does everyone know who Batwoman is? I swear every time I turn around someone else is having an "ah ha!" moment.

Kate Kane's very much in the closet former lover Sophie is probably the most annoying character on the show. Loving the next gen characters of Luke Fox and and Julia Pennyworth, and the actual Batwoman costume is pretty badass.

I had hoped for so much more, and yet there I was in the cinema believing I had gone back in time and was watching the very first, and by first I mean The Rock Remake all over again.
Don’t get me wrong, it was enjoyable enough, and i definitely did not hate it. But i found myself rolling my eyes as the same jokes and gags were repeated and rehashed.
With a great cast, you couldn’t help but wish for something more. As before Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Karen Gillan and Kevin Hart work well together and bring the characters to light. It didn’t hurt that Danny DeVito, Danny Glover and Rory McCann make appearances and bring their own elements of performance to add to the mix.
It was light and funny, my 10 year old most certainly enjoyed the humorous elements, but it was a sequel that could have been a remake of a remake.

A big movie with big sound.

Pompeii stars Kit Harington (Milo), Emily
Browning (Cassia), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Atticus), and Keifer Sutherland
(Corvus).

The soundtrack added a lot to the feeling of “rallying for the
good guys.”

The casting was well thought out & characters well
played, especially Cassia & Milo.

Sutherland made it easy to hate his
character Corvus, while Harington and Akinnuoye-Agbaje create a bond and
brotherhood that made me hold my breath in hopes that they survived their
trials.

The special effects were awesome and there was at least one time
that I even ducked in my chair from the falling debris!

While the premise
of this movie is well known, the plot gave it a smooth, easy to watch story that
kept me engaged the whole time.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been in a
movie theatre that had cheering at the end….even with such an unexpected ending,
but this one had people clapping all around me.

Thumbs up for this
one!

As bad as The Nun
After watching this I almost want to copy and paste the majority of my review of The Nun, as I feel the same way about La Llorona as I did about that.

I hate these types of films, especially all of these created within this whole Conjuring universe. They're not scary, rely on pretty poor jump scares and the more of these films they make, the more predictable and dull they are. And I felt that La Llorona is almost on par with The Nun, even the Annabelle films are better than this. La Llorona herself is a terrible spirit, looks ridiculous and the whole plot is just far too similar to many other films that have gone before it. There's an episode of Supernatural similar to this plot that is miles better!

I really need to stop watching these films, as much as they need to stop making them.
