For whom the Bell jar tolls
I almost gave this memoir a pass because of its title coming from a quote from the Bell Jar. I am glad that I did not. It is not so heavy handed nor dense as I imagined a work that gleaned its name from Sylvia Plath's work would be.

A life story told in near death experiences, it still manages to be, not macabre but light heartfelt and self effacing. I reccomend this book for anyone who believes that a life is made up of defining moments, and wants to see what those moments can add up to.

I'm currently pregnant with my first child and so I have no experience with children yet, because of this I thought this book may help. I just can't put my finger on why in some areas this book just wound me up. It took me quite a while to get through as reading it felt very heavy...like being a parent is a massive chore and you'll have nothing but problems. Perhaps this was a bit too one sided for me, however, there are some great pointers in here so it wasn't a complete waste of time. I'll be sticking to her true life stories in the future.

Welcome revisit
I was a big fan of Deadwood when it was originally on and was hooked from the first episode.
The pace and way it dealt with the characters was excellent which is why the sudden cancellation after season 3 was a heavy blow as we never got to see what happened to the characters we had grown to know.
Until now....
I really enjoyed revisiting deadwood 10 years later and found it still as enjoyable and some of the stories were given the closure they deserve and some were left wanting but in all a short but welcome return .

I read this book years ago, and had rated it (by memory) with 1 star on Goodreads. Having recently re-read it, I now think that might be a bit harsh.

On the other hand, 2 stars might be a bit generous.

I found this heavy going, slow to start, and not really all that exciting. It's unusual in that it is set in the time of Alexander (the Great), but this Alexander - or more particularly - his army, are actually the villains of the piece, with Kineas and his band of Mercenaries fighting against the invading Macedonians in the company of the Scyths.

Not impressed over all.

Tempt the Stars is great, even with the grief over one of my favourite characters. The way Cassie pulls Pritkin into her adventures despite his sentence of doom is run and heartbreaking.

We learn of a whole new side to the world, the witches and the Pythian court, which provides ana exciting more female empowerment. While vampires were quite gender neutral there was a heavy male presence and the mages were all male. Having the strong witches arrive and Cassie prove her place among them and growing and maturing in this book was an exciting turn that I look forward to in subsequent books.

Where does Marvel go after the enormous success of “Avengers: Endgame“? The answer is a joyous comedy romp with your friendly neighbourhood Spider-man. His school trip to Europe was never going to be without incident, but who'd have expected Jake Gyllenhaal to rock up as a new superhero? A good blast of family popcorn fun.

Entertaining WW2 action Film
Well with Roland Emmerich at the helm you should know what to expect from this film. Lots of big budget action scenes and SFX heavy scenes. Going for all guns blazing, quite literally, at the slight expense of any indepth character development. It's good that this also covers the battle from the Japanese perspective. I'm not sure how accurate it is but it is at least based on real people who had key roles in the battle. One definitely to enjoy for the action scenes, especially if seeing in 4DX.

This book addresses some heavy topics. Which is shared in the content warning at the beginning of the book. I feel like this book did a fantastic job of being in the emotions and questions that would come along with the subject matter discussed. I only wish there was what I feel a better more complete ending but I also feel like that was the way it was meant to be to prove no decision has to be permanent you can keep a secret or decision to be quiet but thats not how it has to stay when or how to speak up is up to you.

Great Heavy Duty Gaming Keyboard
I recently had a gaming base unit and decided I needed a decent gaming keyboard to go with it. I bought this not knowing what to expect as I had never heard of the name. Its very impressive and with the back lit keys makes it ideal for gaming. Metal throughout means its a lot more durable than most plastic ones. A good range of keys and simple user interface, comfortable wrist support too. All in all very good value and excellent quality.
