A masterful action comedy
"Hot Fuzz" in one of the many fine films directed by Edgar Wright, and like his other works, its editing style is kinetic and immaculate. The wit and humour in this buddy cop story is excellent, and the action sequences and whodunit mystery are a joy to behold. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost comfortably fit into their roles as the accomplished Sgt. Nicholas Angel and the bumbling police constable Danny Butterman, respectively. Their chemistry, like in "Shaun of the Dead", works wonderfully. "Hot Fuzz" was inspired by numerous action films, and directly references a few, but it still remains a masterful action movie in and of itself. The characters are memorable, the writing and editing tight, and the mystery and jokes effective. Several characters meet graphic fates, with noticeably digital blood, but the computer-generated effects don't take me out of the narrative. "Hot Fuzz" is parodic, energetic, and incredibly entertaining.

Good Work Detective
Saw V- this frachise is keeping me on a loop, so many twist and turns, im on the edge of my seat, cause its soo good. This franchsie is keeping me questioning everything about the charcters, john and his motivation, the detective's, the victims, so many questions and so many unexpected answers, that you wont see coming from a mile away. I love this franchise.

The Plot: Despite the fact that fiendish serial killer Jigsaw is dead, his work lives on through a new apprentice, Lieutenant Mark Hoffman, a cop who appeared to be hot on the murderer's trail. As fellow lawman Agent Peter Strahm begins to suspect Hoffman is Jigsaw's protégé, the fledgling killer sets out to dispose of him.

What will happened next, i will soon find out. Cant wait.

As a romance reader, I love any hint of romance between the characters in books and in this, after what happened between Gin and Donovan in the first book, my hopes soared. But with it being Urban Fantasy, romance isn't really a major plotline in it.

The more I read the more I understood that things probably weren't going to work out well between these two. A (semi) retired assassin and the only un-crooked cop in the force? Hmm...

But lo and behold we have a new love interest! So I'm still pretty happy.

As for the rest of the story, I got dragged into it. I really wanted Gin to kick everyone's arses and come out on top and although it got a little dicey in places she did!

I'm off to start book 3 to read what she's going to get up to next (and hopefully she'll get a little hot and heavy with the new guy!)
