"Starting chronologically, the oldest one, let’s say, would be To Be or Not to Be — Lubitsch — which to me is a perfect comedy. A flawless comedy with incredible wit and pace and rhythm, and a sense of humor that unfortunately disappeared in Germany, and all these wonderful directors like Lubitsch and Billy Wilder and — God knows — Fritz Lang, and everybody else left. This is such a wonderful film [about] fooling the Nazis — it’s just one of my favorites, and I think I’ve seen it probably more than 20 times. Each time I burst out in laughter, and I’m impressed by it."

"The amazing thing about W. C. Fields’s comedy is how much mileage he can get out of almost no plot and very little dialogue. The humor comes from his gleeful disdain of American propriety, and from his impeccable sense of timing and absurdity. He can build a comic routine out of the pronunciation of “proboscis” and of such names as “Egbert Souse.” Fields’s movies have few frills, and the same is true of this straightforward single-disc version, but the performance and the movie are as bracing as a shot or two of late-morning whiskey."

I'm actually giving this short story 4.5 stars, since I was a touch confused by the ending. Nevertheless, I have to say that this previously undiscovered short story is simply delightful, and thank you so much The New Yorker for publishing it (which you can find here http://bit.ly/2mLpQvP). This is Fitzgerald at his best and most cynical. He takes an untenable situation and finds the humor in it, while allowing the sadness to dissolve into the background, like the very last lingerings of a slightly unpleasant scent. This very quick read is highly recommended!

It's a fun self aware zombie movie. It's not scary so if that's what you want this isn't the movie for you. It's set in a sleepy town in New York so the slow pacing is appropriate although it does drag at times and could have been a smidge faster. I enjoy deadpan humor and dry sarcasm which this movie is littered with. It's not a movie that I'm going to watch over and over again. However I'll put it on for background at a party or have fun watching during"bad movie" night.

Fun
This semi-dark, comedic drama was better than expected. It had some decent(although at times cheesy)humor, light dramatic stories(also with their fair share of cheesiness) and good cinematography which all blended well together. The story, while somewhat predictable, played out well and was reminiscent of the old show. Of course, in true Hollywood fashion, they left it open for a possible sequel. Overall this was an entertaining movie that doesn't really expect you take it too seriously I'm not sure why it's listed as a "horror" though-NOT scary. Even the kids could enjoy it. Worth a watch.
