Dean (6927 KP) rated Live Free or Die Hard (2007) in Movies

A great, stand out action film that delivers all the good stuff from the other Die Hard films....and even a few ideas from some other top action films. We get a cool relevant story for the present day about hackers getting in to control just about everything in the country, lots of great action scenes not overly reliant on CGI, great fights and some humour as well of course. John McClane is definitely one hard to kill guy, kicking bad guy ass just as well as ever. This is all out action you can't fail to like!!

Unputdownable
This is the first book in a six part series, following the lives of several key characters in a South London community, from the outset of WW2 to VE Day. The novels just get stronger and stronger and the action moves into the European conflict too. The characters are really well drawn, the women are strong, there ls humour, romance, action, pathos and Just purely compelling storylines. Recommended for any reader who likes a brilliant ongoing series. I’ve loved all the books thus far. Last one comes out in April 2018. Hope others will enjoy too.

A very good fun slasher that has a lot of humour in it. One of the best slasher films I have seen in a while, maybe since House of Wax? It seems the guys working on this know all the right ingredients to give the fans what they want. It doesn't take itself seriously and the characters still make jokes even when being chased by the killer....which was maybe going a bit far. Still it has a cool young cast, good effects, some original kills and a wild party theme throughout. Definitely one for slasher fans!!

What a great read.
This book never has a dull moment with suspense, humour and just the right amount of kink to keep you turning the pages.
Ex Domme and thief, Roz Spring is witness to a murder. Andy McTavish is trying to get her to go into protective custody before the murderer, Ex navy seal turn bad, Hall, gets his evil hands on her. But Roz has other ideas as she tries to raise the money to help her low life dad pay off the bad guys so after he is released from prison they don't put him six feet under.

Real
I hadn't heard of this film when my partner suggested watching it, I read about it and liked the idea but wasn't sure if I would enjoy it. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the humour which kept the film light hearted while still touching on some raw subjects. I enjoyed watching the characters develop and the relationships change throughout the film. There were some shocking moments but I enjoyed the film as a whole. The acting was outstanding from all involved, I couldn't fault it whatsoever. I'm really glad I watched thks film.

Hysterical!
This podcast, which is quickly gaining notoriety for it's humour, didn't fail to disappoint me.
The 'book' in question - Belinda Blinks - is entirely secondary to the bland narration by the son, and his friends comments throughout.
I popped headphones on and listened on public transport- it quickly became apparent this wasn't a good idea as I kept suddenly laughing.
If you aren't easily offended, and the clue is quite firmly in the title, then give it a go for a little light hearted fun. If nothing else, you will come away with a sense of relief he's not your father!

The animation
Great humour and set pieces
Depp-Tastic
In a nut shell, Depp voices a Lizard who calls himself Rango, when fate strands him in the middle of nowhere.
Before long he uses his anonymity to his advantage, to ingratiate himself with the residents of a troubled town...
Depp is fantastic in this role, which is clearly written for him.
There are plenty of jokes and well crafted action scenes as well as a superbly realized villain.
If you enjoy well written animations, then this is for you.
It appeals to all ages and is heaps of fun.

This is hands down my favourite Harry Potter book!!
Everything I loved from the first two books continues in this book, the themes of friendship, good and evil and of course the humour.
In this book Harry, Ron and Hermione get up to more mischief, embark on new adventures and even begin new lessons.
One of the great things about this book, is the slight variation in story line. Instead of battling Lord Voldemort at the end of the school year there is a different enemy to defeat.
Obviously fully recommend this book as everyone should read Harry Potter.

Sometimes they do laugh a little too much at their own remarks but as the show is so entertaining, this isn't too much of a problem and you just find yourself thinking "oh shut up" rather than getting annoyed with it...

Darkly funny thriller
A truly binge worthy show. I got through the 8 episodes in just a few sessions. A mix of cat and mouse spy thriller as a Mi6 agent tracks a female assassin. It has plenty of often dark humour to go with it. The first few episodes made me think of the Hitman 47 game as the assassin goes to great lengths to make their hit. It slows down a bit for the last couple of episodes and the storyline became a little bit odd. Overall though it's a very enjoyable, classy series.
