Even Wright's weaker efforts are superior to most everything else you are likely to see.
Baby Driver kind of feels like Wright was trying to prove he could do a film with less "Edgar Wright" style, which isn't a bad thing, persay. It's still better than most of the films it is clearly taking inspiration from, an manages to surprise you unlike most of those films. It's just not "Scott Pilgrim" or "World's End" good, which is another level entirely. It still shows incredible growth to make something like this, at this stage in his career. Saying it's one of his weaker efforts should in no way be construed as a slight.

This book was really interesting, and I enjoyed reading it. I had trouble reading some of the history stuff (but that's probably because I just don't have a lot of patience). I kept thinking "okay, I believe you, now show me how!
The instructions were rather clear, but I would have liked more drawings. I felt like the whole book was history and information--which is important--but that only a little bit of it was actually instructional. It would have been easier to read it if the information had been better mixed in to the instructional.
On a side-note, as a sci-fi/fantasy writer, this book makes an excellent inspiration/source for writing about the supernatural!

Good app for motivation and inspiration
As an artist I sometimes need a push to get motivated. I found this app recently. It gives you a word prompt for the day. Once you have created your image, you can upload it to the days feed. You can view other people's drawings and give them a like or a comment.
It's also nice that you are given rewards. You get to pick a box which reveals a picture from a famous artist, which is added to your reward gallery. A nice useful, motivational app.

Cody Cook (8 KP) rated Holy Scripture: Revelation, Inspiration & Interpretation in Books

An approach to Scripture that emphasizes inspiration while also arguing for a more nuanced view of it. Would probably be safe to call Bloesch an infalliblist as opposed to an inerrantist. While the book seems to drag at times, there are some excellent observations and points made in regard to reading Scripture for the points it is actually trying to make as opposed to reading it with a wooden literalism that can tend to obscure the text and create dogmas out of incidental material. I didn't find myself agreeing with everything the author said, but in any case I did find the book to be interesting and agreed with a good deal of his points.

I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot.
I am Groot,
We are Groot.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Initially viewed as one of the riskier entries into mnarvel's (then) expanding cinematic universe starring, as it did, a talking raccoon and a talking tree and taking its inspiration form one of the lesser-known Marvel comics (admit it, who'd heard of them prior to this film? Unlike, say, Captain America?) this proved to be one of its biggest hits and made a star of Chris Pratt (as Peter Quill, aka StarLord), helped - in no small part - by a killer soundtrack, a bit of comedic leanings and - of course - by the brilliant Groot!
Not quite as good as Baby Groot from the sequel, though ...
