Dante Valdez was the ultimate Bad Boy. Men feared him and women wanted him. A series of events tests his careful control and a forbidden woman tempts his most dominant desires. An undercover assignment threatens to expose more than just what lies beneath his clothes. His perfectly orderly world is thrown into chaos, hilarity ensues, and his friends are there to add in the hijinx. Join him as he shares his story of humiliation, humor, and hope.

While I really enjoyed this book which is Dante’s and lissa’s story it didn’t entertain as much as book 1. There were some funny bits especially the first scene at the strip club with Marco I did really chuckle it didn’t quite live up to Alex and his bent dick 🙈😂.
Saying this I really thought this story was sweet and Dante can take me on a date like that anytime!
I’m looking forward to seeing what Logan can bring to the series next.

Laughing at Murder is a Poor Choice
It’s been a few months since Reece Parker opened Subplot, his literary themed speakeasy, and he’s trying new things to hopefully bring in customers. One such experiment is a comedy night with standup comic Meghan Spencer. The night appears to be a success, but the next morning, Reece’s best friend finds Meghan floating in the river. In order to make sure his friend doesn’t wind up convicted of the crime, Reece jumps into the case. But can we find the truth amidst all the lies?

The suspects do a great job of confusing things, and I had no idea exactly what was going on until we reached the end. Once we did, everything made perfect sense. I was a bit surprised at just how happy I was to be revisiting the characters and setting. They were just as charming and cozy as I remembered. I’d definitely love to visit Subplot if I could. Reece’s new relationship with Julian wasn’t super surprising, but it is sweet. Fans of the first will definitely enjoy this one as well.

It's #FolkloreFriday 🌿

This week's folklore focus — the hazel in Welsh and Celtic mythology, and why its symbolism is more coherent and more interesting than it might first appear.

Nine hazel trees overhang the sacred pool at the source of wisdom. Their nuts fall into the water and feed the salmon that carries knowledge upstream. The bubbles rising where the nuts fell are called the bubbles of mystic inspiration. The hazel is the origin point of the whole chain — without it, the pool is empty, and the salmon has nothing to carry.

The same tree was used for water-divining across the Celtic and Welsh traditions, its forked branches sensitive to water beneath the surface. The tree that feeds hidden wisdom also finds hidden water. The associations are consistent, pointing toward the same quality — a sensitivity to what lies beneath ordinary perception.

The Celtic tree month of Hazel runs now through August, and this week feels like exactly the right time to sit with what the tradition understood about it.
