Dean (6927 KP) rated No Strings Attached (2011) in Movies
Jul 3, 2018
A slightly above average Rom-Com, good to see a modern take on the genre for a change. It has it's funny moments, silly at times, a good all round cast. Although why "Ludacris" is in a Rom-Com I'm not sure? It's enjoyable enough, but still suffers from the typical cuteness at times and being a predictable Hollywood Rom-com in the end. If you like this also check out A lot like love with Kutcher and Peet in the lead roles.

Great farming board game! I enjoyed it very much!
I liked the tokens especially - so cute!
When played for the first time, the rules are hard to process unless you have a person that has played it a lot of times. When you play for the first time - expect to lose. Badly. I could have completed so many orders, but I didn't know I was eligible.
This is a game that you get better and better by playing more and more.

Welcome to the hellmouth, we've got double games. Slaughterhouse Rulez (2018) Review
If Hammer House Of Horror had produced “Spaced”, the result could have been a lot like “Slaughterhouse Rulez”. A common room home brew of British Boarding School classics like “If….”, “Goodbye, Mr. Chips” (the 1969 musical version specifically) mixed with “Ghostbusters” and dash of “Harry Potter”, this intoxicatingly lowbrow comedy horror offers a novel spin on the idea that British education has gone to the dogs....

Roxanne (13 KP) rated Bond of Blood (Texas Vampires #1) in Books
Nov 14, 2018
A very steamy book indeed and a good story overall. The reason i gave this book 3 stars is because i found it very hard to get into and hard to understand at times. There seemed to be a lot going on all at once and the story kept jumping back and forward through time, also the constant having to look at the back of the book for the glossary was very distracting, other than that it was a very enjoyable read.

Erika (17789 KP) rated Robin Hood (2018) in Movies
Nov 21, 2018 (Updated Mar 25, 2019)
I thought this new iteration of Robin Hood was going to be awful, much like @King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword (2017) . BUT, I was pleasantly surprised. I was entertained throughout, and the action was good. The film didn't stray far from the original bones of the story, which was a good thing. Taron Egerton did well as Robin, and, Ben Mendelsohn is completely menacing. I won't be surprised if this film isn't a lot of people's jams, but I still completely enjoyed it.

Lizzi Lewins (73 KP) rated Jurassic world: Alive in Apps
Jan 10, 2019
I don't normally go in for these types of games but having been a fan of jurassic park since 1993 I thought I'd give it a go. It's not a bad game although without being out searching for a lot of time you will struggle in later levels for coins to evolve the dinosaurs. My only real dislike of the game is the hybrids, I know this is just following the film but I'm really not a fan of them.

Dracoria Malfoy (690 KP) rated Kingdom of Ash (Throne of Glass #7) in Books
Dec 10, 2018
umm decent i suppose, it was a lot better than i anticipated because sjm's writing style has deteriorated lately. However, I did enjoy this, and i feel it was a worthy conclusion to an excellent series. i might repost and go more in-depth into what i thought about the book. I read it in three days so i was kinda rushed, but maybe during my reread i'll do a chapter or section analysis in-depth kinda thing who really knows

Kate (355 KP) rated Hidden Figures (2016) in Movies
Jan 31, 2019
Another bit of history that everyone should know about, this film does live up to its name and it is about the women behind the space war at NASA and how they helped immensely with the work but went unrecognised until recently because they were women and coloured. Worth watching and you might learn a lot, quite funny in places although it is not a comedy but a serious film. Have seen a couple of times and would quite happily watch again.

Sarah Betts (103 KP) rated Trouble on the Books (Castle Bookshop Mystery #1) in Books
Dec 31, 2019
I received this copy of Trouble on the Books from Netgalley and the publisher.
This was a very cool mystery. Shelby works at a bookstore in a castle. The only real beef I have with this book is that there's not a whole lot about the castle.
More castle, please!
So a not very nice person is killed and poor Shelby discovers the body.
The characters are great. I really enjoyed Edie.
There's also a really intriguing b plot involving Shelby's mom.

AT (1676 KP) rated Erased, Vol. 1 in Books
Jul 22, 2019
I really liked the first volume of Erased. There's a lot of mystery to it, even though you feel like you know what's going to happen. The main character of the story is sent back in time to his fifth grade year to try and prevent a string of kidnappings and murders. Along with that, he has to relive those days as a fifth grader, with his adult knowledge and life skills. It's a delicate and sometimes awkward balance for him.
