Erika (17788 KP) rated Robin Hood (2018) in Movies
Nov 21, 2018 (Updated Mar 25, 2019)
I thought this new iteration of Robin Hood was going to be awful, much like @King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword (2017) . BUT, I was pleasantly surprised. I was entertained throughout, and the action was good. The film didn't stray far from the original bones of the story, which was a good thing. Taron Egerton did well as Robin, and, Ben Mendelsohn is completely menacing. I won't be surprised if this film isn't a lot of people's jams, but I still completely enjoyed it.
Lizzi Lewins (73 KP) rated Jurassic world: Alive in Apps

I don't normally go in for these types of games but having been a fan of jurassic park since 1993 I thought I'd give it a go. It's not a bad game although without being out searching for a lot of time you will struggle in later levels for coins to evolve the dinosaurs. My only real dislike of the game is the hybrids, I know this is just following the film but I'm really not a fan of them.
Dracoria Malfoy (690 KP) rated Kingdom of Ash (Throne of Glass #7) in Books

umm decent i suppose, it was a lot better than i anticipated because sjm's writing style has deteriorated lately. However, I did enjoy this, and i feel it was a worthy conclusion to an excellent series. i might repost and go more in-depth into what i thought about the book. I read it in three days so i was kinda rushed, but maybe during my reread i'll do a chapter or section analysis in-depth kinda thing who really knows
Kate (355 KP) rated Hidden Figures (2016) in Movies
Jan 31, 2019
Another bit of history that everyone should know about, this film does live up to its name and it is about the women behind the space war at NASA and how they helped immensely with the work but went unrecognised until recently because they were women and coloured. Worth watching and you might learn a lot, quite funny in places although it is not a comedy but a serious film. Have seen a couple of times and would quite happily watch again.
Sarah Betts (103 KP) rated Trouble on the Books (Castle Bookshop Mystery #1) in Books
Dec 31, 2019
I received this copy of Trouble on the Books from Netgalley and the publisher.
This was a very cool mystery. Shelby works at a bookstore in a castle. The only real beef I have with this book is that there's not a whole lot about the castle.
More castle, please!
So a not very nice person is killed and poor Shelby discovers the body.
The characters are great. I really enjoyed Edie.
There's also a really intriguing b plot involving Shelby's mom.

AT (1676 KP) rated Erased, Vol. 1 in Books
Jul 22, 2019
I really liked the first volume of Erased. There's a lot of mystery to it, even though you feel like you know what's going to happen. The main character of the story is sent back in time to his fifth grade year to try and prevent a string of kidnappings and murders. Along with that, he has to relive those days as a fifth grader, with his adult knowledge and life skills. It's a delicate and sometimes awkward balance for him.
Josh Huitt (29 KP) rated Freaks (1932) in Movies
Jul 4, 2019
Following up Dracula, we get this bout an hour drama, with a slight horror twist at the end. Made with actual side show performers, the main 'horror' at the time was people outside the norm.... who actually are the compassionate centerpiece of the movie. Kinda boring really, but I though Dracula was too.... and don t get me wrong, I love some old black n whites. A good watch for cinema history, but not something you're gonna rewatch a lot.
saheffernan (157 KP) rated The Bright Sessions in Podcasts
Nov 9, 2019
I don't listen to a lot of podcast and I only checked this out because I had heard in a book review that the characters in the Infinite noise had started on this podcast as patients of Dr. Bright. I was so not disappointed I listened to this at every chance I could get and was through most of the podcast up to season 3 in matter of days. I love most things about atypicals or extraordinary people this was so well done.

Grey is great!
This is my second Isabelle Grey book and once again I really enjoyed this book. It was fast-paced, interesting with good characters and dynamics. The story was well-thought out and intricate with a whole web of people involved. The only bad point was that Grace seemed to come up with a lot of the answers with very little evidence but maybe she is just a good detective.

I sort of enjoyed this! Sometimes Netflix documentaries stress me out and this one did a bit. I get that Joe Exotic's life was chaotic but I'm still not entirely sure of the order in which things happened. I might have to go watch it again but I have more questions now than when I started. I know a lot of people love this documentary and it is good I just think it could have been told better.
