"[Solanas] wrote a very angry and very precise portrait of what she considered the male to be: something between a human and an ape; an unresponsive blob only concerned with physical sensation and without the capacity for empathy or self-knowledge or intimacy, and at the same time full of hatred and jealousy and shame and guilt. Her description is beautiful and on some level, I think, entirely accurate."

"A bunch of nuns move into a wind-addled old pleasure dome in the Himalayas and have trouble remembering their vows. The air is set aquivering by the most innocuous male approach to their world—even Sabu seems to shake their virginal resolve. And even I have trouble keeping my priest’s collar straight as the unspoken pressures build up to boiler-breaking levels. Technicolor at its most eye-popping!"

"This is a movie to watch when you crave good old-fashioned Hollywood glamour. A young Mel Gibson practically sets the screen on fire with his flinty charisma, as a journalist in way over his head in 1960s Indonesia. With a revolutionary turn by the actress Linda Hunt as a male photographer, and Sigourney Weaver as a British correspondent toying with Gibson’s affections, this is a lustrously intelligent entertainment."

"Lee Marvin… That’s a great movie. It kind of sets the benchmark, I think. It kind of puts it up there, because you really engage. And also every part is so well-written. Angie Dickenson… from the female roles to the male roles, the parts are so well drawn. And yet there’s a danger to it, there’s a rawness to it. It’s like an expose of that world, you know?"

I did not love this. Bree was annoying and her constant, childish quarrels with Taveon kept my eyes rolling. The fact that each male Dark Fae she came in contact with was swooning over her was very irritating. I finished because I hoped it would get better - the plot itself wasn't bad and I actually kind of started to enjoy it by the last 80 pages or so.

I'm liking this manga, though the added extra of a nice girlfriend for our male lead is...irritating. It's always so much easier to want our lead girl to get the guy when the girlfriends a cruel person but she isn't, she's so nice. Nevertheless I am still rooting for them to get together, even if it takes a few volumes to get there.

Off to start Volume 3.

Average Action Film
Rather low budget action film, following the typical Die Hard style plot. A pilot teams up with a Prisoner on escort after the Plane crash lands in dangerous territory.
Some good shoot out action later on but a rather slow build up. The 2 male leads make this watchable though but something you'll be in a rush to book a ticket for.
