#pixar #disney #incredibles2 is an exceptional #sequel with a much more mature tone & flawless #animation. After doing a double bill of the incredibles films today in #4k I found myself awe of the technical achievement on show. This #film is stunning & I mean visual #perfection, particle effects are complex & mesmerising, #eyes house tiny red veins, faces blush & cloths contain intricate stitching too with character animation also being fluid & #natural. Subject matter is dark this time around & deals with extremely #adult themes, parents might want to think twice before taking kids to see this one as id say almost 80% of the film is a heavily dialog driven #drama. I wont lie at times its incredibly intense, heavy going & hard work but its also always fascinating & higly rewarding housing many very real world/mature themes with great complexity & depth. With things getting very serious the film does break things up every now & again with just enough huge scale top notch memorable action set pieces & slick comedy to let your brain rest briefly (however I found most #Kids in my screening were getting restless & bored by then so parents may want to think twice before taking the #family). Themes of death, jealousy, trust, lies, parent roll reversal, balancing home #life & family with work, teaching kids to be themselves while also making sure they obey the law & fit in, as well as metaphors about technology enslaving us all & how superhero films are only pushed on us to distract us from real world problems & belief someone else will solve all our problems for us (this is not only refreshing but expertly handled & over flowing with intelligence giving the #film a more human, realistic & relevant tone). Voice work is simply top notch with #bobodenkirk being the most interesting & going the extra mile. Score & #sound design are also on point & at times I swear I thought #jackjack was a #kid in my screening running around behind me. The last 20mins felt a tad rushed but with such likeable & well fleshed out characters & a more mature story #incredibles 2 might just be the most intelligent & #fun #superhero film or the year. #odeon #odeonlimitless #beautiful #hero #super

"Day of Wrath, for me, is another kind of perfection. It’s mature themes for mature people. It’s about inquisition and war, and no wonder why, after doing that movie about inquisition during the invasion of the Nazis in Denmark, then he was recommended to move away from Denmark just to save himself and family. It’s a very cruel movie about a cruel historical time, but in which some people are put in positions that they have to behave cruel against others, and all the characters are changing. It’s very weird. Even the young girl who is very nice at the beginning, then she starts to turn to a witch, and you know that she’s going to die also, but the weak characters are touching. It’s a very complex movie in terms of the multiple faces that every human has in their life. You have the nice face when the situations are nice, and when the situations turn dramatic and there’s no way out, some people just become evil. What I like about Dreyer is he was studying movies about religion but from a very atheist approach. His movies are about the inside of humankind. It’s such a perfect movie. There are some movies that you see and you go, “Oh, I wish the music was different,” or “I wish the actor was funny,” but there are the movies that you watch over and over and see that there’s not one single frame to change. They’re perfect."

"Warning: This book has some mature content.

Honestly, though I liked the summary, I didn't really know what I was getting into. By the end, I came to the conclusion that in short, this was about Katniss Everdeen thrown into Beauty and the Beast with fairies. (If any of you have already read the book... am I wrong?)

That comparison may not sound very appealing, but it worked. Maas created intriguing characters and put them in a mysteriously wonderful fantasy world. The characters were complex and I liked seeing their different personalities. My personal favorites were Lucien and Rhys." I didn’t realise that this would be as funny and as serious (at the same time!) as it was. What a life Tonya Harding has had. I remember hearing about the attack on Nancy Kerrigan and thinking how awful it was (I must have been about 19 - this film also made me feel ‘mature’). It was good to see the story behind that attack. It’s quite sad really, and I think that came across really well.
I thought the actors were really well chosen - Margot Robbie really was a surprise. Isn’t only ever seen her as Harley Quinn, and Tonya Harding is really NOT Harley Quinn!
This is worth a watch. Very entertaining.

Really good!
This one was recommended by a friend(thanks Augusta!). It's on Netflix now and I'm glad I watched it. The acting was really well done(not surprising considering the seasoned actors in it) and the cinematography was great. The story unfolded well and the surprise twist at the end was excellent! This is not a fast paced story or flashy in any way but keeps you interested the whole time and evokes emotion throughout. Nothing too graphic(mild violence) but handles some mature subject matter. I think it's ok for kids(will probably start a conversation or two). Doesn't end exactly like you would expect! REALLY worth a watch!
