"A groovier pick. If I had wanted to make a comedy, it would have been this one. Both melancholic and comic. French comedians Eric and Ramzy at their peak."

The haunting, melancholic voice of Thom Yorke
Listening to Thom Yorke's melodious voice on a record player literally sends shivers down your spine. The electronic moans of "Subterranean Homesick Alien" and "Karma Police" makes grown men weep. This is literally what you get.

This book, only second from Roy's stable in the last twenty years, retains the metaphorical music that she used to fair rapture in her first book. The descriptions, spring to live with her subtle touch

This one was a strange read. It didn’t have much of a storyline to it, but I still felt melancholic after reading it.

This story is reminiscent of going through something shocking and coming out the other side of it lost and alone. I like it but it was very sad and made me feel lonely.

Sad, slightly creepy and slow moving, this one is definitely not something you want to pick up after a traumatic event.

"No film has left a deeper impression on me than this portrait of a wandering lost soul stuck in between deserted American landscapes, surrounded by neon lights. It shows us that while we can never truly escape our past, we can at least try to confront it head-on with the goal of forgiving ourselves a little bit in the process. This is such a heartfelt, melancholic, and humanist film, one that I never tire of revisiting."

"This taps into my DJing years. It's a techno record which oozes the melancholic, musical tropes of deep house, made by DJ Rolando and Gerald Mitchell, from Underground Resistance in Detroit. I've played this far too much in the car, but it's great in the car. Tracey uses a couple of the tracks on here to power-walk to as well. [laughs] I love that. So if you see her steaming across Hampstead Heath, headphones in, she's probably listening to this!
