The 20th (of 41) Discworld book, this is Terry Pratchett's seasonal tale, with his character of Death (HO. HO. HO) temporarily having to take over from the Hogfather: Discworld's version of Santa Claus while his grandaughter Susan attempts to find out what has happened to the real thing.

This also a subplot concerning the wizards of Unseen University, and is the novel to come up with such delights as the Sock Monster (remember all those missing socks you have? Exactly.) and the Oh God of hangovers, alongside the Verruca Gnome and the Jolly Fairy - all of which have been created by the 'spare belief' sloshing around when people stop believing in the Hogfather. It's also good to see an, essentially, extended cameo by Nobby Nobbs, while some of the footnotes scattered throughout did have me laughing out loud.

Solid Hammer genre movie. Really an odd piece of atomic-era pessimism, as you'd expect from famously glum screenwriter Nigel Kneale; expedition to track down the Yeti goes rather awry, and the question becomes that of who the real monster is.

A bit dated now, especially in terms of the production values - there are some exterior shots filmed in the Pyrenees, but all the dialogue scenes were done on a sound stage. Despite being the main character, Peter Cushing (in only his second film for Hammer) is second-billed to the American Tucker in the hope of flogging the movie to the States (pretty much standard practice at the time). Decent script ticks all the plot boxes; curiously ambiguous ending doesn't hurt either, but the Yeti suits are not much cop, it must be said. Probably worth watching if you like unusually brainy B-movies.

Excellent theme
This is a game I consistently come back to as a lightweight game to spice up a hohum evening. I love the theme of this game and how the cards that you are able to buy play so well into the theme and add tremendous amounts of replayability to it. The mechanics in the game are super simple and I have no problem brining it to the table for gamers and non-gamers alike. Pertaining to it's wide assessibility, this game scales so well for all of its player counts. I've even been able to play a four monster game with 2 and 3 people. Lastly, this game was one of my first Yahtzee style, dice manipulation games, but due to my fiance and my enjoyment of the game, we've been excited to try more with the same mechanism.
