AT (1676 KP) rated Assassination Classroom, Vol. 1 in Books
Sep 17, 2018
Assassination Classroom is a funny, quirky manga. The premise is that a classroom of academic misfits have been given the task of assassinating their monster homeroom teacher before the end of the year. They try each day, and train in different tactics, but continually fail because the monster evades them. At the same time, the monster is a caring, helpful teacher for his students. It's a odd and funny story. Looking forward to book 2!

Poor Mabel is afraid of monster hiding in her room. She and her cat hide from the monster in her fort. But one day Mabel questions whether they’re all that bad. She finds out that the monster is just as scared of her as she is of him, and then they become friends and spend the day playing and dressing up and having tea. Mabel isn’t scared of monsters anymore. This is a very cute story about not being afraid and being brave enough to take the chance of making a friend. The illustrations are adorable! The monster is cute and not to scary.

Faeries and humans struggle to co-exist in this dark, Victorian, fantasy world.
When a faerie (Cara Delevigne) and the lead detective (Orlando Bloom) fall in complete lust, they find themselves in dangerous territory. Then the killings, only a monster could do this. A monster like no other.

Almost indescribably weird Japanese children's film takes all the tropes of the giant monster genre and somehow manages to make them thoroughly whimsical and charming. Up to a point, anyway. Anyone wondering about the sanitation arrangements on Monster Island will enjoy the giant monster toilet which turns up in this film.
The monster suits are awful, the acting mainly consists of the broadest kind of slapstick and people shouting at one another, and even the special effects are decidedly ropey. Yet we must remember this was a children's film and it does have a very peculiar gentle charm to it. If you like Japanese SF movies anyway. Everyone else will probably find it totally unwatchable.

I liked it very much although I wish the crossover was with the original Monster High and not the reboot.
