Assassination Classroom is a funny, quirky manga. The premise is that a classroom of academic misfits have been given the task of assassinating their monster homeroom teacher before the end of the year. They try each day, and train in different tactics, but continually fail because the monster evades them. At the same time, the monster is a caring, helpful teacher for his students. It's a odd and funny story. Looking forward to book 2!

Stephan's Monster (Vampires of Vadin #2) by Shelby Rhodes
Stephen's Monster is the second book in the Vampires of Vadin, and it goes off in a different direction than I thought it would! I was hoping for Asher and Kaiden's story, but no. Instead I get Jayden and Stephen, an opposite's attract couple, with deep and dark similarities. They are drawn to each other, and Stephen tries to help Jayden overcome his 'monster'.

Whilst these two have backgrounds as heartbreaking as you could imagine, this is not a heartbreaking story. Instead, it is one of acceptance, of love, and even of hope. Stephen's obsession with pink made me laugh, as Jayden's monster made me cry. So many highs and lows in this book, and I loved every word.

Nice to reunite with Adrian and Xavier from book one, plus other characters. If you enjoy dark romances with tortured heroes, then I can absolutely and utterly recommend this book!

This book was a monster to get through. It took me a couple of months. That being said, I really enjoyed this book. There were a couple of moments where it was gross or disturbing. I don't think it was particularly terrifying, I can't say it was throw or hide the book across the room scary. I felt a couple of deaths were unsatisfying. But, overall it was a good book and I'm glad I read it.

A cute and cheeky bedtime story!

I knew I was going to enjoy this little read as soon as I saw the cover and the little blurb. Goodnight, Monster! by Chloe Sanders is a story about Ben, who doesn’t want to go to bed, because there is a monster in his room.

A message to give people a chance

When his mother encourages Ben to make friends with the monster. There is a lovely moment here with a message to give people a chance, as they are more than what they look on the outside. I really loved this moment, and I wish more children books focused on it.

Ben says hi to the monster and makes friends, and then gets him ready for bed. He teaches Monster Bo how to brush his teeth, and have a bath, and have dinner, but the monster keeps trying to misbehave and hides Ben’s socks under the bed, and does other cute silly things, but Ben teaches him how to be a good monster.

I really loved this bedtime story. I think it has a lot of messages to teach young children – especially for them to realise that it is now time for bed. Furthermore, a couple of life lessons are secretly hidden inside this book too, that makes me really happy.

If you have little ‘’monsters’’ at home, I am sure both of you will enjoy this short bedtime story.

This is the first X-Files book I've ever read, and it was pretty decent. I wish it had a creepier monster, and it was missing the banter between Mulder and Scully that I love so much. But it was written well enough to keep my interest.

"A monster of a book, where you get to learn about the world and the people that we are. It is a book that I tried to read several times before finally reading it through, each time wishing I didn’t have a couple of kids on my shoulder or the roaring engine sound of a modern kitchen in my ears. It is simply the perfect book when you have time to really focus and think."

Tie-in to the Predator comic of the same name (which I've never read), itself utilising the monster from the classic 1980s Arnie action movie.

Not the best book I've read, nor even the best Predator tie-in: it's pretty obvious where this is going right from the start.

I love the cover of Lakesedge by Lyndall Clipstone it's very pretty. I love how she's running up the stairs.

So to start off the mom burning Airen was messed up. There's never an excuse to hurt a child it's disgusting.

Quote: "I want his shadows." The monster said is why it wants Arien. He gives off bad vibes.

It also must have been weird for Airen's sister Violeta to have to ride with the monster as well. It also must have been scary when they were running from the monster in the woods.

Quote: "Tendrils of darkness unfold from the ground and snare the wolf, wrapping it's legs like vines." Very descriptive and scared me to be completely honest.

Quote: "This monster, who claims there's darkness in my brother who wanted to take Arien away and leave me behind, he came back for me." Does the monster have a little crush on Violeta?

This book was very interesting and loved it. The plot was so amazing. Love the relationship between Rowan and Violetta. I also love how she sacrificed everything. I would definitely reccomend reading this just be warned it's a very emotional story.

What would make a 19th century woman write such a marvelous horror story that to this day, her book is the first one we think of when we think of the ultimate monster? To find out, read my review of this fascinating historical fiction novel that focuses on Mary Shelley, the author of the book "Frankenstein" https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2015/09/05/the-monsters-within/
