Before there was Toretto, there was Riddick.
One for the old-dark-house/monsters-from-outer-space lovers :)

A passanger ship crash-lands on a supposedly colonised planet. The inhabitants are all mysteriously missing. Turns out there are other inhabitants on the planet, no one knew about.

Ship's passengers find themselves suddenly dependant on the nasty mass-murderer previously chained up in the hold.

Nothing earth-shatteringly original here, but it's good creepy entertainment delivered well.

And Riddicks eyes are waaaayyy cooler than anything F & F served up 😆

My life as a 12 year old
This game was everything for one short summer at the age of 12. Once you have finally set up the pieces (upteen mountains in the middle, forest round the edge and beach after that) you have to spin the wheel to try and get a boat or a dolphin to take your people to safety before the island sinks (which happens one piece at a time) but being careful to avoid the kraken and sea monsters who will sink your boat/eat your people. Endless fun.

A short review. The jump scares were awesome if terrifying. The monsters or aliens or whatever they were sure sounded a lot like Jurassic Park raptors. John Krasinski looks hella sexy in his Ted Kaczynski beard. The little gal in here did an excellent job with her nonverbal communication. A quiet moody teen? I didn’t know there was such a thing. This movie is worth watching just to get to the last 30 seconds.

Welcome Back to the Dungeon
Welcome Back to the Dungeon
2016 | Bluff, Card Game, Fantasy, Fighting
Easy and enjoyable but slightly passable
The game is fun and fast but for me doesn't have too much replay value. 4 players go through a bidding process to determine how difficult a dungeon will be and then one player is forced to play through that dungeon with some character stats and items. The 4 characters are ok and the monsters are fine (I do enjoy the art) but it can become a little repetitive. Its a nice little game but it certainly won't be the only game you want to play.

Dungeons & Dragons: Temple of Elemental Evil Board Game
Dungeons & Dragons: Temple of Elemental Evil Board Game
2015 | Adventure, Exploration, Fantasy, Miniatures
Good play mechanics and a ton of miniatures
This game plays as a distilled version of D&D and really does keep everything you love while losing some of the role playing and complexity. Hey, sometimes you just need a good dungeon crawl and this certainly won't disappoint those looking for just (and I mean Just) that. There's a little bit of character leveling but overall its a randomized dungeon with random monsters and treasure. Lots of pretty good miniatures to use during regular D&D doesn't hurt.
