Does anyone else have an issue with sound on movies? It always seems like they can't mix it right or something. I watch most of my movies on my tv. When I watch shows they're fine. People talk, you can hear them, yadda yadda. When I watch movies and someone is talking I can barely hear them so I have to turn up the volume. Then when something happens(like suddenly) is so loud it almost blows my ear drums out. So I turn it back down- then I can't hear them talking... again. This happens a lot. It's like Hollywood can't get the soundtracks mixed right. I've been tested so I know it's not my hearing. Drives me nuts. Ok, rant over. Please tell me I'm not alone in this, friends. Smdh.

It is a nightmare, especially when the kids are sleeping, you have to watch a film with your fingers over the volume controls, constantly adjusting it.

I just wanted to take some time thank everyone that has followed me so far. I am almost to 50. I hope everyone has like my reviews. Full disclosure - I'm not really familiar with Mindy Kaling. I know she's got a show and she's funny. And Ive seen her on random talk shows here and there, but I've never actually watched one thing she has acted in. But she's funny, and her books get lots of stars, so I thought - why not get to know her?

It's written more like journal entries than a biography, and tell the most random stories with the most random thoughts interspersed. She goes off topic A LOT. But I kinda feel like that's how my brain works too, so I could totally follow. I like this girl's style! She's does talk a lot about her struggles to fit it - and I think that's something we can all relate too.

I think I'll be checking out some more of Mindy's books - and probably a few TV shows? Movies perhaps? Its interesting to get to know a celebrity through a book - I might just try it again sometime.
