courtship. (Eli Hirsch and Micah Gordon) is an indie-pop duo based in Los Angeles, California. Not too long ago, they released a groovy beach tune, entitled, “Guy Stuff”.

“Every single night, such a deep desire just to be inside something. It’s guy stuff. There’s violence in our heart. Soo tough.” – lyrics

‘Guy Stuff’ is a tongue-in-cheek ode to the human nature engrained in men.

The likable tune contains a relatable storyline, pleasing vocals, and light-hearted instrumentation flavored with a punchy piano which plays throughout the track.

Also, the song possesses catchy oohs and aahs which radiates an eclectic, disco feel.

courtship.’s musical inspirations while growing up include ELO, Daft Punk, and Burt Bacharach.

After a year on the road with bands such as Passion Pit, The Wombats, and Weezer, the bubbly duo went back into the studio to create their sophomore album, entitled, “The Art of Breaking Hearts”.

The project follows their highly successful “Denial in Paradise” album, which has amassed over 9M streams thanks to tracks such as “Nice Guy” and “Tell Me Tell Me”.

A disturbingly good thriller
The second in the Grant County series this book continues with the high shock value of the crimes involved. Seriously if you are squeamish or don’t want to be reading about rape, genital mutilation, paedophilia, child abuse, and/or suicide then you should probably avoid.

In this outing medical examiner Sara Linton and her on / off partner police chief Jeffery Tolliver investigate a tragic teenage argument that leads to the uncovering of a series of very dark secrets in the town. But with those around the victim closing ranks it’s tough to get to the bottom of who is responsible for some pretty disturbing stuff.

We get to see a bit more of the Sara and Jeffrey relationship dynamic; but more interesting in this book is the ongoing recovery of Detective Lena Adams. The horrendous experiences that were covered in the previous book in the series “Blindsighted” are taking their toll on Lena. I would recommend reading this series in order to fully get the back story to this.

Despite the uncomfortable nature of some of the subject matter this is another well written thriller from Slaughter.

I pick this book just after finishing “Shades of Magic” trilogy. I wanted to read more V.E Schwab and I like the premises of the story.

Things I like:
- The main idea of the book. Violence creates real and deadly monsters. I thought the was very unique.
-The idea of killing using something as beautiful as music create a beautiful was conflicted
-August is such a complex character. Was born from the worst act of violence, he very own nature is to kill humans that have committed crimes but his heart he just wants to be normal.
- How morally grey the whole story was and how it makes you reflect on how people think and act and how sometimes people do bad things for good reason and if they should or not being all punished in the same way.
- The relation between the two main characters. Their relationship grew in a nice and mature way.
-It does reflect some issue that we have in our society.

Things I didn’t like:
- Cliche school scene. Our two protagonists are teenagers and the beginning of the book start with a loot of overused scene.

Don't Go Down
This movie is everything you would hope for in a Tom Paton flick and a hell of a lot more. A high concept psychological horror/thriller like you wouldnt believe that plays in the sci-fi genre realm. So yeah its a mind melding genre bending smorgasboard.
With Samantha Schnitzler and Bently Kalu (Ben Garrett) doing arguably a fair chunk of the heavy lifting, I am always happy to see these guys share the screen. Bently just seems to have this protective nature when his characters interact with Sam's, Schnitzler is always on point as a total Bad Ass and this time gets to play with her more emotional side.
This movie is more than an actioner, its more than a thriller... Stairs lives in many genres while silently making its own. I have said it before and I will say it one more time, the team behind this movie just took one hell of a step in their already solid game to that next level. Lets just hope it doesnt send them back to the start (see what I did there).
