Average Festive Rom-Com
A decent enough Rom-Com Netflix film set around Christmas time. Think the title is from 2 films that are most peoples fave Christmas films, Love Actually and Die Hard.
A journalist who writes about her bad online dates finally meets a great guy. So she travels across America to surprise him for Christmas, only to find out she has been Catfished. However the guy in the photo is in the same town and tries to get to know him.
Nina Dobrev is quite funny and it has a certain charm to it but nothing original really.

No. not the Netflix series.
The movie on which it is based.
If I'm honest, I didn't even know that there was such a thing, until I saw it pop up on Amazon Prime after having seen the trailer for the series on Netflix.
After a bit of research did nothing but say good things about both (movie and series), I thought I would give the movie a go first.
Set in the not-too-distant-future, where a science experiment to stop global warming has instead resulted in a new Ice Age, the film (and series) posits society surviving on a train that is circling the globe in perpetuity, with those in power at the front of the train (living in the lap of luxury), whilst - the further back you go - the worse conditions get. And it's at the very back of the train that we pick up, with Chris Evans (here, no Captain America!) about to lead another revolt five years after the failure of the last.
It's an interesting set-up, with some impressive (if improbable) special effects as we move up the train (and see the outside world through the windows), with Tilda Swinton stealing the show as the loathsome Minister Mason.
Now I'm off the (maybe) see what the series is like ...

AT (1676 KP) rated The Punisher - Season 2 in TV
Feb 2, 2019
I love the Punisher! I loved season 1. We just finished binging season 2, which I also liked a lot. However, without giving spoilers, it had a completely different feel than the first season. There were a couple of elements in the second season that I could have done without, or at least with changes, but overall, I still fully enjoyed it. I'm glad the show didn't get cancelled the way some of the other Marvel shows on Netflix did. However, if it does at this point, I would still feel like things had been completed. Hopefully they'll throw a third season at us, though!

Great performances
This is yet another award nominated film that I've never seen, and this is definitely one that I'm ashamed of.
This film has some terrific performances from a stellar cast - Sean Penn, Tim Robbins and Kevin Bacon especially - and a brilliant supporting cast as well. The plot itself sounds like it could be a by the numbers predictable thriller, but in fact it turns out to have some good twists and is rather dark and suspenseful. It hasn't aged the best (or it just looks horrendous on Netflix), but as crime thrillers go this is probably one of the best out there.

Cheesy 80's vibe (1 more)
Quite funny
A fun Horror Comedy
Well this Netflix original has been on my list for a while so I gave it a whirl. It's a tongue firmly in cheek horror comedy with a fair amount of gore. A young nerdy kid finds out his hot babysitter has evil plans for him.
The cast was quite cool and fun. You sense they enjoyed filming this. It is quite funny in an cheesy way, with a slight 80's horror vibe to it. Almost a horror version of Home alone. If you want a horror comedy that is quite funny check it out.

Emotional and compelling
I was moved to tears by this Netflix documentary about filmmaker Simon Fitzmaurice. He is a man with ALS (MND) in Ireland who still pursued his dreams despite losing so much in his personal life including his ability to walk, talk and basically live off of a machine and the assistance of others to survive.
Watching a film like this puts your own petty problems into perspective and makes you not only want to be a better person, but count every blessing you have and every day you continue to awaken each morning.
Everyone should check this film out.

Dark
I found this one on Netflix. It's fairly dark, but doesn't start off that way. Involves a woman and her boyfriend traveling through Bosnia when their car breaks down in the woods(filled with mines) and they meet a couple of Serbian men who claim to want to help but ignite memories from her childhood during the war. Her boyfriend finds out just what she's made of when the two men turn out to be not so helpful. Decent acting and cinematography. The story unfolds well. I doubt kids would be interested, but this movie is worth a watch. Very interesting tale.

Refreshing storyline
What a twist!
Oh my. Been waiting to watch this after watching the trailer a couple of months ago and just watched it today on Netflix on it’s debuting day.
I won’t write too much on the storyline as I do not want to giveaway any spoilers to the amazing twist that lies within and will just advise you to watch it.
If you love sci-fi, you’ll love this film.
If you love thrilling, edge of seat stuff, you’ll love this film.
If you love twists in films, you’ll absolutely adore this film!

Watched this horror/comedy "crazed killer" movie on Netflix(not exclusive). The cinematography was fine. The acting was over the top (purposefully, I believe). The story was one of the weirdest things I've ever seen in a movie. It starts out simple enough, but just gets weirder and weirder as it goes on. The characters aren't exactly "deep". I wouldn't recommend this for kids(because of some gross scenes-your call) but if you're into dark comedy horrors, you'll enjoy this one. I managed to finish it(with a lot of eye rolling and a few chuckles). The end had me smh(goofy). It's worth a watch if you're bored.
