Great story
Netflix continues to rule...
Your television set has been taken over by order of the Peeky F****** Blinders. Birmingham 1919 and this family want to rule the world. When ambitious head of the family, Thomas Shelby, returns home from the war, he wants the world to know that he intends to take charge. Wanting to get the family business into a legitimate bookmaking empire, Thomas finds himself locking horns with gangs up and down the country, all the time being pursued by a straighter than thou police officer who enforces the law with an iron fist. Clashing gang wars, street fights and some very colourful characters, this show is set for superstardom as it continues to keep audiences captivated with brute force and a strong political presence. Great show and keeps getting better.

Most disaster films nowadays are made with the notion of concentrating on the story arc of the characters and don’t feel the need to explain the reasoning behind the disaster.
This film is no exception!
For a road movie it is fantastic. Lots of suspense and thrills built on trust issues and a road trip for a father and son-in-law who are trying to get to their daughter/partner, starting as two people who don’t see eye to eye and gradually becoming friends.
However, I was left wanting more from the final scenes and disappointed with the last frame.
If you’re stuck for something to watch on Netflix then give it a go but remember that nothing will be explained (and I mean nothing!!)

Surprisingly sweet
I usually don't have much hope for original Netflix or Amazon Prime movies figuring if they were good a studio would have purchased them or they would have played in theatres; however, I thought this one was sweet. I do enjoy both Dakota Fanning and Elizabeth Olsen so I thought I would give it a try.
Two friends decide they want to have sex before going to college. Unfortunately, they decide on the same guy as their companion without telling the other. Relationships get complicated for sure.
Certainly not going to win any awards, but I thought the acting was solid all around including supporting performances by Ellen Barkin, Clark Gregg, Demi Moore and Richard Dreyfuss.
The dialogue was touching in spots and when things get complicated, you are really rooting for the friendship to ensure.

Fantastic!
I won this remote in a smashbomb giveaway and I could not be any more grateful!!! My parents already have one Roku Television & I gave this other remote to them for the second tv that they had in their home and now they can have a wide variety of shows, movies, etc. at their fingertips throughout their own little home! They live in an area where it is hard to get cable, and the installation is incredibly expensive so this works wonders for them! Especially since it can be linked to a Netflix! They are loving life! Sometimes it really is the little things! Thank you again so much! Hooking this up literally took 10-15 minutes! Easy breezy!

Nice supernatural horror
Contains spoilers, click to show
I watched this after seeing it on Netflix and i am glad i did. It is a good supernatural horror about a man who is wheelchair bound (eckhart) after a confrontation with a demon left his wife and son dead. He now specialises in enter possessed peoples minds in order to find the demon, expel it and free the possessed person. He has a hidden agenda as he wants to confront the demon that took his wife and child from him and left him disabled. Its got just the right amount of creepy moments and the demonic possession is done really well. It could have been made more gory and horrific but i think that the way its done makes it stand out more. All in all well worth a watch :)

Rebecca Billcliff (2409 KP) rated Hey Duggee in TV
Nov 12, 2019 (Updated May 23, 2021)
Duggee is one of those programs for small children that knows adults are stuck watching it over and over. To help combat parental insanity, they throw in the odd grown-up joke, and I live for it.
When my lad decides to put Duggee on instead of some of the other inane crap there is for babies out there (and yes, he chooses, because he is a lockdown baby who at 18 months knew the code to the ipad, and how to put Netflix on, and chose the "kids" profile!), it makes my day.
I have honestly found it hard to get sick of this program, each time it comes on, I spot something new, a joke I missed, some subtle detail, it has (so far) not got old.
Now give me a Duggee hug!

Sudden change in direction at the end (1 more)
Odd plot
I missed this at the cinema so gave it a watch as it's on Netflix currently. It comes across as quite a quirky odd film. A girl with a drink problem has to go back to her small town home after being kicked out by her boyfriend. She randomly discovers she has a connection to a giant monster that appears in South Korea.
The problem with this film is it doesn't feel it's going anywhere. What's the connection and why? Why does the lead character make some of her choices? It just doesn't add up. Then the last 15 minutes have a very different change in direction and tone that just didn't fit with the rest of the film. One for those who like quirky films.

Toss a coin to your Witcher
I can't say I know anything of the games or books. Saw this pop up on Netflix and hoped for something to fill the GoT void. With Magic and a monster hunter I hoped for great things especially as it seems to have a big budget. Although it is good and entertaining it wasn't the grand scale epic I thought it might be. For a monster hunter there are few episodes with any grand beasts. Some of them were a little underwhelming. It can be a bit slow in some episodes and Cavill's dull tones do become a bit annoying after a while. Thankfully it did pick up towards the end. Hopefully if they do a second series we will see a bit more monster action.

Incredible True Crime story
This documentary was amazing. What starts as an investigation by keyboard warriors into the identity of a messed up individual who posts a video of extreme animal cruelty turns into a twisty true crime ride.
At only 3 episodes; unlike many recent documentaries shown on Netflix, this one didn't feel drawn out. We are saved from having to actually witness any of the horrors they saw in the online videos covered (although if you are sensitive to animal cruelty and violence they do describe what occurs in the videos which is devastatingly brutal.) The documentary is narrated to a large part by some real-life heroes on a quest and the emotion they felt really comes across.
I had no idea when I started watching this where it was going but it was a jaw-dropping experience.

High hopes let down
I'm sure we all had a vision of what the triumphant, long-awaited return of Captain Jean-Luc Picard would look like. The series starts and ends in that vein, being exciting, thoughtful and with a moral lesson, but with a lot of padding throughout the series. Much like Discovery, the series decided to throw a lot of side adventures in the mix and while Picard is much more focussed than its Netflix cousin there are still times when it drags.
Stewart tries well to play his most famous role, but his age shows at times and I felt the makers missed the chance to sensitively keep his character but replaced with a younger actor in the last episode. This would have allowed Stewart to bow out gracefully and show more promise for the future series of his life.
