I liked this. It was fun, it was sweet, it was hot in places. It was a quick easy read for me but I wasn't 100% into the story.
It was nice following Josephine's journey from relatively unknown fashion blogger moving from small town Texas to the Big Apple in the hopes of finding her dream job. Little did she expect to find love along the way.
Julian was pretty cool, too, though I didn't feel we got to know him as well as we did Jo.
Lorena was my type of girl (minus the drugs of course), she was fun, told it how it was and didn't particularly care who she upset in doing so and was very into her fashion designing by the end.
I'm not that into fashion but it was nice to see Josephine's journey unfold.

Nice ties to the original films (1 more)
Brutal
The Boogeyman is back
Carrying on from the same night as the 2018 film, much as Halloween 2 did. There are a lot of ties to the first two original Halloween films. This features characters, and some of the same actors who were kids in the first two films. Along with some flashback scenes set in '78. It's a nice touch.
There isn't a great deal of depth to the story as such but Michael is one lethal killing machine. The scene when faced with a whole fire crew is pure carnage. A little sub plot of the town coming together as a mob to tackle Michael was a bit silly. By the end you know Michael is pure evil and sets up for Halloween Ends next year.

Another solid Joe Wright film. Gary Oldman did an amazing job as Churchill, the ultimate spin doctor. It was a good year to bring this film out, since Dunkirk came out a few months earlier. The movie did a good job, building the tension between the various political figures, and the war. It was also nice to see Ben Mendelsohn not play a villain.
Britt LaShea (5 KP) rated American Teen by Khalid in Music

Will get stuck
This song will get stuck in your head. It is reminiscent of the Bone Thugz and Harmony "Crossroads" song. The radio plays it so much that one finds one's self humming it throughout the day.
It is a really catchy song and Khalid can definitely sing but it in my opinion is just a fad that will soon blow away.

Shaun Collins (3 KP) rated Doctor Who: The Ninth Doctor, Volume 2: Doctormania in Books

A fun pair of stories set with the Ninth Doctor, Rose and Jack. The first may be the best Slitheen story told to date, and that's saying something about the reviled monsters from Raxacoricofallapatorius. The second has some nice moments with a future Micky not wanting to deal with No. 9, in a misfire about Rose gaining superpowers. For our full review... http://travelingthevortex.com/?p=8201

Sometimes life isn't quite what you expected. A novel about finding yourself and finding true love.
This is a nice little debut novel about Sophie, a young woman who is torn between her love for her boyfriend and her growing feelings for her best friends sister. Set in Scotland, this novel is tragic, romantic, gripping and sad.
Wittsend (43 KP) rated The Mango Orchard: Travelling Back to the Secret Heart in Books

Although the book was easy to read, found it a bit unbelievable at times considering it is claiming to be a true story. I have to wonder if the author embellished the story a bit. Hard to believe that so many thing went wrong and then worked themselves out perfectly during his journey. The story was still nice and did find myself engaged throughout.
Erika (17789 KP) rated Ben-Hur (2016) in Movies

I'm really confused as to why this movie was even made. The CGI was bad, the accents were all over the place, and the costumes looked like they were from a middle school play. Every time Jesus was on screen, all I could think about was Xerxes from 300. The 2 is only because Jack Huston and Toby Kebbell are nice to look at.
