I love this book so much. I remember it freaked me out when I was younger and it still provides some nice chills.

So, Rose (full name: Rosecleer) is a normal high school student until she starts having dreams that feature Nancy, a girl she barely knew but provided comfort to when it was really needed.

Several red herrings pop up as Rose tries to figure out why she is having these visions and also keeps herself from being run out of town when Nancy is discovered dead and several more girls disappear.

The game runs until it's not fun any more. Exhausting
Better, cheaper, more fun games are available
Lets your most unpleasant 'friends' be their worst selves, will scare off your nice ones
So incredibly awkward and exhausting with people you don't intimately know or who fall into ANY minority group
I've not seen a single play group not collectively agree to completely ignore certain rubbish cards that come up again and again
Shock humour covers a damp squib of a game

Some interesting historical links
The Comedian's part of the pre-Watchmen series continues the link to actual historical events and people. Edward Blake, the Comedian, is a good friend of the Kennedy brothers and regularly helps them out in various ways. Blake is then sent to Vietnam, initially as a boost to morale for the US troops, but he soon embarks on a trademark campaign of terror across the jungle.
The overall story wasn't to my tastes, but some excellent artwork and nice historical links. Plus something of an origin story for his trademark smiley face logo.

Short Read
Captain Nike Alexander is in Afghanistan for one reason only - to use her pilot skills. She doesn’t have time for men, especially military men. Playing hard to get with Captain Gavin Jackson comes as naturally to Nike as flying one of her Apaches. But Gavin’s sexy-as-sin smile is making it harder and harder to say no. Nicely written short read, touches on the hardships of war and the tolls that this has on all involved. It would have been nice to tie up some of the unfinished parts touched upon throughout the book. The characters were very likeable!

A good follow up to the first film Kidulthood, set 6 years later with Sam being released from prison. It's not quite as dramatic as the first, but still a good film. Nice to see the majority of the same cast, made 3 years after the first, now looking a bit older. This film centers around Sam mainly. Some might find the slang a bit too quick, hard to understand......but a lot of young boys do sound like that in London! A good film dealing with revenge and growing up and showing that violence wont get you anywhere.

Nice Quick Reacher Fix
Another Reacher short audio for me narrated by Kerry Shale and with a run-time of around 1hr 15 mins it was an enjoyable quick fix.

Set back in 1989 while Reacher is still in the military it’s a fairly standard investigation set-up following the murder of young lieutenant colonel.

It’s what you expect from Reacher with his no-nonsense style and observing nature all in the form of a quick hit. I enjoyed this short more than the previous Reacher shorts I’ve come across; it kept things simple and to the point.

Concession
I am a big fan of the movie starring Kerri Russell, as well as, Sarah Bareilles whose songs are used in the musical, so I was excited to see this show. I was not disappointed. The songs were great and the show stayed true to the movie.

The concession offered mini pies in little mason jars that were too cute to pass up. When you walk into the theater, it smells like a bakery with pies fresh out of the oven. It was a nice touch to make the audience feel like we were in the diner.

"That’s just a jam. Always, whenever I DJ, this goes on. Devendra Banhart played this for me and turned me onto it. It’s sort of disco… but not quite in the prime of disco; his era was the late 70s and early 80s. Sylvester’s not around anymore, sadly he died of complications from HIV/AIDS in 1988. He left a lot of great records – most famously You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real) – but there’s only a few of his songs I really love. This is his best in my opinion. It’s really funky, super dance-y, nice n’ long, and it just grooves."

I'm still loving this series, though I didn't quite enjoy this as much as the last. There was far too much threesome going on and not enough boy on boy detailing for me. I loved it once they finally got around to it but leading up to it I wanted to either bang their heads together or slam my own against a wall. They were driving me crazy!!!! Then leading up to the end, their interaction pretty much dropped off completely until the last few pages.

A nice addition to the series but not my favourite.

"I was a huge Usher fan and “Nice & Slow” was, for me, the slow jam. It captured everything I was into: the video by Hype Williams, with that fisheye lens and he was skirting across the wall with that beanie cap on. “And I very much modelled myself on him, when I started to make my own songs. He had the Usher chain with the big U on it. He was infamous. Him and Jermaine Dupri set the bar when it came to making those RnB slow jams, it's one of my favourites from that time."
